Sorry if I spelled the title wrong, I'm too lazy to go check the spelling at the moment xD But can someone please explain what proficiencies are and how to spend them? Why is there a column that has numbers increasing by 5? some of my pets have up to 6 points, but I don't want to spend them for fear of doing something wrong. I looked around for a topic about these points, but there were only brief paragraphs. What does it take to get all the way down to the bottom and to the right of the rows? What do I do with the current points some of my pets have? Any help is greatly appreciated (:
Thank you for your time,

Proficiency points are ability points that you get for every 5th level that your pet gains. To spend Proficiency Points, go to your pet's profile and click the "Proficiencies" button. Select the tree (element) that you want to use, then click on the stat that you want to spend the points on.

Proficiency points allow you to add stat boosts to your pet and, eventually, an elemental ability. You MUST match up the proficiency tree that you choose with your pets', already existing, stats. Meaning: if your pet has a high intelligence/magical damage stat, you want to pick an ability that is magical and focuses on intelligence. Alternatively, if your pet has high strength/physical damage you want to pick a tree that is physical and focuses on strength. (magical trees always focus on intelligence and physical trees always focus on strength).

The column with multiples of 5 is just telling you that that is how many proficiency points you need to have spent before that row is unlocked/spendable.

I hope this isn't too confusing. D=

I think I understand, but a few of my pets have a little over 100 in intelligence, while their physical damage is higher than magical damage. For others its the other way, they have high strength and high magical damage instead of physical damage. What would I do for these pets? Do I need to change their equipment to match the intelligence/magical damage and strength/physical damage ratios?

You always want to go with the damage stat. If magical is higher than physical, or visa versa, you want to spend your level ups and proficiencies to match it.

Also, when choosing a tree, make sure that it's not the armor that is making the damage stats higher unless that's the damage you're wanting them to deal.

Does anyone know what would happen if I 'reset' my proficiencies?
I hope that would mean I could make better choices with my points, but that's an assumption I don't want to make and accidently get rid of twenty-five levels worth of points.

Yes. it just resets the pet's spent points so that you can reallocate them.
