Why isn't there an introduction thread for new users.. I want to be able to introduce myself for a better social aspect of this site. :(

Second question, Is diamonds the only way to buy things on here? Every time I go to the shops menu and look at an item, the currency is diamonds. Now, I see that you have to buy diamonds. Why am I saving up for coins then?

I don't know about the first question. There's plenty of ways to introduce yourself without an introduction thread I guess. Go in General Discussion and say hello!

You are saving coins for the shops in town. As you go through the quests different towns and different shops will open up. There you can buy potions, traps, gear and even some avatar items. also most users sell their pets for gold. Gold is the primary currency. You can even buy diamonds for gold sometimes on the trade broker.

I'd suggest just making a new thread in General Discussion. I'm not quite sure why Krin and Fai haven't made an introduction thread yet, but it isn't too hard to make friends without one. :) We're all quite friendly.

Gold is the main currency on Sylestia. The Diamond shop and Avatar shop do require diamonds, but they should be the only shops that do. The rest of the shops are found while exploring. Those only require gold.

Scales and AP are a side currency as well. Scales are found while nurturing and AP is found doing various tasks around the site. AP is normally used to buy avatar items in your Wardrobe, while Scales are used in the Scale Shop to by various items and Egglings.

I think you can only sell items for gold in the trade broker, so if you want to buy equipments for your pets, essences, dyes, clothing on the trade broker, you need gold. Also when buying pets off others and paying the breeding fee.
