so i've made it to the umbra forest, and i'm currently at level 58. however, i can't seem to defeat the boss there - desius. i was hoping to get some advice on the matter, because i'm trying to get to the next stage in the story. if it helps, the following are the pets in my party:

i have a bit of gold, so if i need to buy new armor, reassign points, or buy experience orbs i can probably do that. any and all help is appreciated, thank you in advance! ^^

> did you successfully activate the seals?

> Shadow and Earth are both primarily Tank elements.
Typical team build consists of Tank (Earth, Water, or Shadow) in slot 1 + Healer (light) or Buffer (water) + Attacker (Air or Fire)- not the only build, but it makes a decent basis. Light and water generally take the second position in a team because they are the two elements that can heal other party members.

> Fire isn't necessarily the best element for one-enemy mobs, as its strength comes in when fighting multiple opponents

> OOF I just looked at the equips.
And frankly I'm kinda surprised you managed to reach Desius with those.

All the equips that are uncommon rarity? Bin them. Both level and rarity of equips factor into the strength of the equip, and uncommons? Garbage. Sell them to the site and be done with them.
A lv25 legendary equip is more effective than a lv55 uncommon
(lv55 Uncommon relic Damage stat = 115.
Lv25 Legendary relic's Damage stat = 135
Lv50 Legendary relic's Damage stat = 260)

Second, the Relic on all three of them are the wrong Damage type (even if they weren't all low rarity).
Fire, Light, and Shadow elements use the Magical Damage stat to calculate their attack output, while Earth, Air, and Water use the Physical Damage stat. Neither group makes any use of the other Damage stat.
(So what you have is an Earth (Physical) pet with an Arcanist relic, getting +109 to a stat he can't use, a Shadow (Magical) with a Myrmidon getting +167 to a stat he can't use, and a Fire (Magical) getting +115 to a stat she can't use.)

(all the other equips are also the wrong types aside from Plague's one Illusionist bracelet and Rot's one Assassin bracelet)

For your team, being lv58, probably the best (combo of easiest to get+cheapest price+high stats) is lv50 Legendary gear. They can be obtained from lv50 Very Hard mission satchels, so they're easy to get and as such also tend to go pretty cheap on the Broker.

Okay
> Earth, as mentioned, is a Tank element. Earth is the most dedicated of all Tank elements, really not designed to run any other position, as their focus is on Taunting enemies into attacking them. They do very well paired with a Light Healer
Earth pets, as any tanks, can have Proficiencies in HP, Str, and/or Agi- my own one is primarily statted for Strength and Agility (agility controls a pet's Evasion and Defence)

They should be equipped with Assassin (str/agi) gear (at lv60, you can upgrade to LG equips from the broker- either Exotic or the more expensive Vinethorn. Earth pets can use Warden (Str/Agi, Higher Agi) or Tidal Lord (Str/Agi, Higher Str))

> Shadow is also a primary Tank element, and I Don't Know How To Use shadow tanks. I do have a Shadow attacker on a Water/Light/Shadow team though
Shadow Tanks use Illusionist (Int/Agi) gear, Attackers, Evoker (Int/Dex), and survivalists... No idea, never used a survivalist shadow either.
Shadow Tanks lv60+ can use Reaver gear (Or Lightbringer), Attackers would want Pyromancer.

> Fire is a dedicated attacker element, and need Int and Dexterity. Profs should be (at lv60) 2Int/1dex (3int is possible but not optimal), equips should be Evoker (int/dex) (Dexterity controls Accuracy and Critical Hits. Fire and Air pets both use crits to inflict their base attack's debuff). At lv60, Pyromancer equips become an option

> Light Healers use Evoker/ Pyromancer (Lightbringer is for Light Tanks, not healers), and are typically statted 3int or 2int/1dex at lv60 (they don't need the crits like Fire and Air pets do)

> Air attackers use Myrmidon/ Storm Caller, and are primarily statted the same as Fire Attackers.

you need to use a pet that is 'true' to the stat (200+ in the stat discounting any equip bonus) each seal asks for (having translated the text and either worked out/asked someone what the words used correspond to) (I think most people who do know what to do, usually having asked someone else, swap in their Mission pet for that stat to do it and then swap back to the usual party)

Have you decided on what party setup you'll go with? Any element/pet changes to the party?
I need to open a bunch of lv50 mission satchels, so if we get any relevant equips we can toss them over? (these days "throw equips at newer players that need them" is the force I use to drive myself to stop procrastinating on doing it)

i could use a rough bracelet of the evoker if you end up getting one, as for element changes, i haven't made any yet but i did reassign points and get the right equipment. i wasn't able to decode the message so honestly i've just been throwing pets at it at random ^^;
