I finally have enough scales to buy some scale shop eggs and wanted your opinions, are they worth it?

depend of their price, under 2000 scales, not realy as they will be common or uncomon but from that price and onward they start to have multiple traits witch increass their rarity.

under 2000 for Common+Uncommon? No, common/uncommon are 500 or under.

For the most part, Scale Shop eggs aren't worth it.
The pets are always one of the regular species (sans lune and kelp), with wild-level stats, and only random non-restricted traits.
If you're just after a completely random legendary for whatever reason (since you can't pick the species) it's the easiest way, but you have to spend at least 1900 scales for a legendary (with amount of vis going up with the price- you need to fork out at least 2480 for a 3v), and if you want the pet to look good you'll almost undoubtedly have to use a lot of dyes
