i have a philter of trait isruption (themed) that i must have gotten during the christmas event. i've had problems with these things before, and i learned that pets needed to
A. not have any offspring
and
B. be an adult
so i set aside one of my themed project nixis to disrupt so i could bring more genes into the gene pool. this is the male i want to use. he's a purebred moonlight magic zolnixi, and he has five visible genes, with an empty gene slot in the Mutation One slot.
the philter doesn't say anything about only being able to be used on tamed pets, as far as i am aware, and i have read it over many times, however, whenever i go to the pets profile page and try to use the philter, it brings up an error message that says my pet is not a themed pet. why is this happening?

For philters of trait disruption (themed) the pet has to be a tagged theme (aka gen 1, gold star) and be unbred. It does not have to be an adult.
It says that the pet is unthemed because the philter was created before purebred themed pets were tracked and got their blue stars. Therefore, when the philters were created, the only 'themed' pets were the original, gold-starred, themes. Ideally Krin will get around to updating the text on the philter at some point to make this clear, but for now, yeah, 'themed' in this case means tagged, first-gen themed pets.
