Axis decided enough was enough and took off on his own to see if there was any more information he could glean on the situation and find his way back to his starship.
The chattering of children was bringing up a level of aggression he'd rather not express publicly, it would be best for everyone.
(Oh yeah don't know if there was any confusion but I keep all my dialogue in quotes. I would put thoughts in italics, but mobile sucks so)

Katie merely glanced around at the surroundings. She tasted the air. Then tried again. What the heck? How come I can't taste magic or the absence of magic in this air? She looked over at Trevor. "Stop sulking," she scolded. "Can you taste the magic in the air?"
Trevor tried to taste magic in the air. "Uh, no? I... can't?" He looked up at Katie, confusion written on his face.
"Does anyone know if there's magic in the air?" she tried to ask anyone in her surroundings.

I was going to make him a coral snake instead because he's toxic but I could only find pictures of milk snakes so it stays.
Mostly I think he's staying in human form around here unless he needs to actually fight which he will because I'm killing him for Scias + CR-0, Lark
Kinda out of place to have this big space lizard strolling around, but we do have a legit mystical bird, so.)

Trevor merely kept looking at the ground.
(The magic birb boy. I might kill Katie, scar Trevor with that, and bring in Dr. Xenon. Katie's been nothing but a sarcastic witch.)
