"Just look up." Eladain said simply.
Above them, many houses were nested in the trees. Warm light filtered through their windows, hinting a fire or heat source of some sort. The houses were connected to each other by rope bridges.

"Oh! Okay, I'm just gonna... You know." Amara made her way up to the houses and inspected them all. Finally, Amara found a house that she really liked. Inside it was cozy, with a little fireplace and a seating area around it. The bedroom had cream walls and a beanbag in the corner, with a writing space that had lots of space for writing equipment. Amara loved it, she flopped down onto the bed and snuggled into the duvet. "I'll take this one." She whispered to herself.

"You found one you like?" Eladain asked, leaning on the door frame. A white barn owl perched on his arm. Akami peeked in, holding an arm full of nekomata kittens.

Amara looked up from the bed sheets and immediately sat up flustered, "Wha... I mean.. Yeah, I did." Amara stood up and asked "So is there anything fun to do here?" She grinned.

"Well... If you find rope courses, hunting, origami, dragons, parkour, archery, sword-fighting, cooking, horse-back riding, animal trapping, and capture the flag fun... Then yeah. I suppose so." Eladain said casually.
"I need help naming these!" Akami said, showing Amana the three little Nekomata kittens in her arms. "I'm thinking of Peck, Imu, and Mushi!"

"Yeah, all of them except for hunting and animal trapping. Plus those names sound great! Their so cute." Amara grinned at the small half Irin. "Anyway, I'm going for a walk." Amara slowly climbed down into the forest and began to walk away.

"Bye!!!!!" Akami said.
"C'mon, we need to practice on your magic." Eladain said to his daughter.

Amara walked through the trees, deep in thought. The wind blew through them, weaving in and out and flowing her hair out in the breeze. Cold air stung her skin as she walked, her feet pressed against the dirt. "Aw, geez." She muttered as she noticed slight tears rolling from her eyes. She quickly wiped them away, smiled and said "I'm fine! I have friends now!"

Akami's eyes suddenly flashed gold.
"What's wrong?" Eladain asked. When Akami's eyes turned gold, that meant she was feeling the emotions around her.
"She's sad." Akami whispered.
"Who's sad?"
"I don't know... I just felt it momentarily. It's gone now." Akami said. "Daddy, I'm hungry."
"Well, I'll start making dinner. Bring Peck, Mushi, and Imu inside, won't you?" Eladain asked.
"Yes Daddy."

Amara quickly rubbed her eyes again and let out a fake smile trying to feel better. She breathed out shakily and turned around, heading back to the city. When she arrived at the city, she checked her face for any signs of sadness and climbed up a tree to reach the city.
