i spot Gabriel in the garden, stalking up behind lily and taking the basket from her hands. "you're done for today" he tells her, inspecting one of the berries between two fingers, before popping it into his mouth. "the collar stays on until tomorrow" he adds, before turning heel and brushing past me as he leaves.

She nods silently and heads to her room quietly sitting on the bed cleaning her cuts on her hand ls and wrapping them up and getting a change of clothes and sitting in her room, she was so hungry she didn't even feel like eating

i follow lily to her room, stopping by the table to pile a plate high with fresh fruits and still warm pastries as a peace offering. when i get to her room, i knock gently on the door, hoping she'll answer. i feel bad about what i did, as mad as i was i shouldn't have slapped her.
