To make sure it works when you add an image to a post you need to put the image url (sometimes called the image address) inside [img ] [ /img] (removing the spaces) ^.^

In the message box, it should look like this:
[img ]https://www.sylestia.com/image_builder_pet.php?species=nephini&breed=sylesti&gender=male&gd1=NN&gd2=BB&gd3=CC&md1=AA&md2=AA&md3=CC&ec=47c0c4&c1=ebbc96&c2=f7e4ab&c3=c5335f&gd1c=fcedaf&gd2c=ecbb97&gd3c=d57e9b&md1c=ecbc95&md2c=348b16&md3c=e5d0c1&maturity=648&owned=1&size=250[ /img] (again without the spaces ^.^')

Without the spaces it should come up like this:

You can make the picture smaller or larger by adding/altering the &size=250 bit at the end of the url. (Though if you're using a picture that wasn't from sylestia originally this bit might not work. ^.^')

If you want to post a picture from your computer you'll have to upload it to a image sharing site such as imgur then follow the same pattern of copying and pasting the image url into the middle of the [ img] [ /img]

As an example, here is a picture of a mushroom from my imgur. ^.^

With the spaces the image code looks like this:
[ img]http://i.imgur.com/XXznBMO.png[ /img]

Without the spaces it looks like this:

Images that are already on the internet don't need to be uploaded to an image site, you just need to copy and paste the image url in exactly the same way.

With spaces it looks like this:
[ img]http://exmoorpet.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/cat.png[ /img]

Without spaces it looks like this:

This also works in the event you want to post a Gif. ^.^

With spaces it looks like this:
[ img]https://media4.giphy.com/media/Ol2yHMEFJdYEo/200.gif[ /img]

Without spaces it looks like this:

I think that as long as the non-sylestia image url has a image file extension (.jpg .png etc...) at the end you should be fine. ^.^

When you post a message there ought to be a selection of blue buttons underneath the Ping Users area. Pressing the button with IMG on it ought to bring a [ img] [ /img] up automatically and you only have to copy and paste the url in between. (Although you can type the [ img] [ /img] if you prefer. ^.^)

Make sure you're not using the IMG= Button as this is for when you want to use a link as an image:

[ img=] [ /img]

[ img=https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1247328]https://www.sylestia.com/image_builder_pet.php?species=sylvorpa&breed=sylesti&gender=male&gd1=DD&gd2=NF&gd3=NN&md1=NN&md2=NB&md3=NN&ec=E9FB0E&c1=FB2A04&c2=FCC303&c3=F3F94F&gd1c=FBFAF8&gd2c=FDFCF1&gd3c=F75F07&md1c=FD2801&md2c=F96C04&md3c=FC2902&ac=E9FB0E&ac2=E9FB0E&maturity=648&costume=0&size=250[ /img]

Red being the url address of the page you want to link to and the blue being the image address you want to have people click on.

Without the spaces it should look like this:

Oh, sorry... didn't understand :P
For me (I have a Chromebook Acer) I click the three dots in the upper right and then 'More Tools' and then 'Take a Screeshot'. It's probably different for you if you use a different type of device.
