Personality:She can seem reckless with a firey temper, and can seem as wild as a storm. Her eyes hold great sorrow though, and she doesnt trust easily for fear of being hurt. She doesnt care to stay put, and will hold a grudge, and not only for herself. Clever and calculating, though she puts up a none caring front, it hides a secret softer side, where she fears for those she does care for. Sarcastic and stubborn. She will fight for her crew members and ship with all her fury, she will fight so that others will not have to go through what she did. She has token all that life has thrown at her, and she will throw it right back.

Backstory:when she was little her father was a good merchant, but gambled too much and lost all his ships. Those who he lost to were vicious and greedy, saying it wasnt enough, so they took his wife and his daughter for slaves. Rowenas mother did what she could to protect her, which in turn killed her right in front of her daughter. Rowena having seen her mothers death later killed the one who did it in a rage with some broken glass. Already had the age was 12 she had been a slave, a orphan, and a murderer. She was young and pretty, so she was not killed for what she had done, but worked harder than the rest. She was sold off to a few others. Once she got to a larger ship, and started to fall for the captains son. The night they tried to run away together they were caught. The Captains son had been dim witted and sentimental enough to leave a goodbye letter to his father. He also upon being catch begged for forgiveness to his father, breaking Circe entirely. As a slave she had befriended the ships power monkey, and got some gun powder. She slit the captains thought and blew up part of the ship. She escaped to land, free at last, never knowing if her past love was still alive. After she got her shackles off she roamed the streets, surviving, till she got got a job on a smaller merchants ship to help in the kitchens. On the ship the Captain took an interest in her and she was taught to fight and sail. Soon she and the Captain became lovers. She thought her life was back together, that the horrors and blood were gone. But then the British navy boarded them and found out they were smuggling illegal things. Rowena hadnt known though suspected. The navy made to take them aboard for prisoners and burn their ship and cargo. Rowena, in a frenzy, memories of being a slave rushing in, fought back to not be taken again. They would have killed her but the Captain stopped them and instead was killed himself. Rowenas heart had grown hard and when the Navys ship got into a fight with a pirates ship that had heard of the take down of the before ship. Rowena joined the fight, not on anyones side but her own rushing anger. The Pirates won and hearing that the Captain was dead, took in his crew, Rowena joining in, her hair hidden in a hat, her face so ruddy that they couldnt tell. Once they docked though she got off.

Weaknesses: sometimes old feelings can get in her way and yet at the same time she can seem to have a heart of stone -not the greatest aim with a gun -competitive

Relations: her father lived, Rowena and her mother being the last of his debt, he got lost in drink for a while but then remarried and has attained some of his old wealth back (Rowena doesnt know this yet though). Her first lover survived, but neither have the knowledge that the other still lives.

Why'd You Become A Pirate? Everything, good or bad, has happened to her on the sea. It is her home, and it shall be where she finally rests too. The navy took from her, but she was saved by pirates, so she sees more honor and joining their ranks. She will fight so that others will not have to go through what she did. She has token all that life has thrown at her, and she will throw it right back.

Roleplay Example (a mushed up excerpt from a passage I wrote for some fun called Together to the Stars.)
She felt jumpy, but her feet were leaden.
The dark storm had a strange beauty, a deadly beauty. The wind singing a sorrowful, vengeful song. Dark dust flew around her, whipping her cape behind her, making her hunch over leaning forward, as if embracing the storm.
In waves pieces and chunks of glowing red crystals would fly by on the winds. It would be harmful to even go so near to them.
She stood surrounded by ruins, a old battlefield, darker and more wild than the quiet somber one that she had gone through before. Yet the battlefield did not seem to stand around her, but back in a violet past, lost to the storm of chaos.
She squinted up the mountain. The dark craggy peaks, the winding paths, and dark gapping gaps.
This was it. The storm. The eye.
This was where they all traveled. This was the end of paths, and the beginning.
Their was no coming back. Not the way she came.
There really had only been one way anyway. Forward.
So forward she would go, forward to the stars.
