"wait he looks at me weird?" i ask, shuddering. nopenopenope. absolutely not happening. "i think i'll just go pick berries with you for the rest of the week and avoid him at all costs" i tell her, flipping through the book again.

"yeah like he takes an absolute interest in you" she insist "he only comes to me when I been picking berries for 5 hours so I can just get up and do it again" she smiles and flips threw some thing "you can help but I think you should put on some clothes or your gonna end up like me all scared up" she insisted

"maybe.." i trail off, thinking. "i think i'm just going to avoid him and spend all my time in the garden with you and locked in my room where he can't find me" i sigh "it should be your last day working, right?" i ask, sitting up.

"probably not, that's all I'm truly good at" she insisted "but he barely talks to me and that's all I do, sit in the garden and lock myself in the room all day but now I'm not even allowed to eat so that also comes with punishments just don't do anything stupid" she sighed and kept reading the book tucked into her lap and this stupid collar I keep forgetting I have on

"do you think he'd even notice if you were gone? it isn't fair you have to work all day" i sigh, poking at the books next to me. flipping through the pages absentmindedly, something catches my eyes. opening the book to that page, i look at the picture displayed prominently on the page. the book depicts a large throne, similar to the throne i had seen a picture of Gabriel sitting on in one of the other books.

this throne is different, though. this one is made of small, dainty threads of gold whereas the throne Gabriel was depicted on was more bulky and imposing. "whats up with this?" i ask, holding it up "do you think it belongs to one of the other gods?" i ask, scanning over the other pages. the book makes no mention of it, the picture simply stands alone between a page on the lyra and a page on a god referred to as the Grace.

"No he doesn't notice trust me I know he doesn't" she spoke looking at it "hmph maybe it's his old throne"she insisted grabbing another book "well I'm used to working anyways so there is no bother I'm just another one of his slaves hair dressed a little nicer and treated.... I would say better but I take that back with great words" she said "besides I only have a few hours to rest before I'm casted away to the bushes to pick more berrys so I should rest" she insisted

i grimace, giving her a sympathetic look. "i will find a way to make him treat you better" i promise, setting the book aside. "for now, are you hungry? i can get you something to eat, i promise he wont find out" i add, glancing around.

"I would say yes but I'm sure he will find out, and I don't want you in trouble so, Just get your rest, I'm sure he won't listen anyways" she said "but no worry's humans can go a few weeks without eating and besides I'm sure I can sneak a few berry's in" she said Trying to sound hopeful but knowing with so many workers around she can barely even wince at most pain without getting a dirty look

"no way, i'm not letting you starve, i will get you food, you just stay here" i say, standing "and pretend to look busy" i add, handing her a book. there, if she pretends to read that, then no one will bother her, and i can slip down into the kitchen and get some food for her.



hurrying down the stairs, i slink into the kitchen, looking around at all the food. i need a way to carry this back to her, so i grab a small cloth, wrapping a few pastries up and tying the cloth napkin into a bag. with that done, i sneak out of the kitchen, and back up stairs. oddly enough, there don't seem to be any servants around, and there's way more food in that kitchen than the entire staff could eat. what's going on?

She lays on her side pretending to read the book but she was so close to falling asleep on the stone floor, she wiped her cheek with some blankets and waited on her last leg she was not succeeding she closed her eyes slowly
