Echo opened her mouth to speak, but her words came out as beautiful gibberish. She simply decided to explain her name, echoing her voice in hopes that would get the point across.

It seemed apparent that the female not-human could not speak, so Kruuna turned to the male not-human and asked, "Do you know why the little one is unable to talk?" She cocked her head and twitched her ears, showing that she was perplexed.

Echo, wanting to speak for herself, held out the selkie coat, pointing to it, then her, putting one finger up, attempting to saw it was her first time as a human. She shrugged her shoulders and let out a little song, attempting to say she didn't know how to speak as a human.

"I do not. It seems she only knows the language of the Selkies. My name is Eladain. I am an Irin, a fallen angel, and I created a sanctuary for lesser mythical creatures. I also have a half-human daughter." he said.

Kruuna had been a bear all of her life in this isolated land. She never really interacted with others that were not-humans and not-animals, other than the Spirits of course.
"What is a selkie and an angel?" The fifteen foot tall bear(when standing on her hind legs) asked.

Echo put her coat back on, transforming into a seal. "Well, a Selkie is a seal that can turn into a human, their seal forms becoming a coat they put back on to become a seal again" She explained in her seal form, knowing the bear would be able to understand the animal language.

The selkie had turned into a seal, she thought to herself.
"Why was it that you could speak as a seal, but you couldn't speak when you were in that other form?" Kruuna asked.

"Well, I can speak as a seal because I know the language and movements, I haven't been a human before, so I never really figured it all out, I can only speak the language of seals, which other animals can easily understand" Echo explained to her.

"Hmm... Well that certainly does make sense," Kruuna said as she lightly scratched her muzzle before she sat down with a grunt. I have a feeling that this will be a long conversation with the two not-humans, Kruuna thought to herself.

"I was contained in a tank by humans for most of my life, so now I really want to explore the world" Echo barked, spinning in place.
