It's scarily quiet, and you don't hear anyone following you. Then again, they could be waiting to attack you at any second. But nothing happens and you finally step back out into the open, and it seems that it's safe now to look back.

Backstory: His mother used to work as a portal creator for Candela before meeting his father, one of the rare interworld dignitaries. His mother moved to Ignacia where she is now an independent researcher studying magic while his father works in city management. They are a well-known family, both affluent and influential, and his parents expect great things from him. His elder brother joined the city guard and is one of the youngest generals. Devon wants to explore Ignacia and all magic has to offer, and is at odds with his family over his desire to travel rather than settle into a career.

Other: He loves going to the bakery (for real, a fresh baked loaf of sweet bread is his absolute favorite food)

"Oh, okay." Astra said her eyes wide. "I wasn't quite expecting that, but, where did he good?"
