Adelia sits there in shock, stormy eyes wide and seemingly quite distant. Firenze spits the tape residue out, sticking out his tongue in disgust. "Blaugh. Now what the-"

"Omg its gonna eat me!" She said deathly scared of snakes she sat behind the crowd of people poking her tiny head threw the gaps "where gonna die from snakes!! I thought I was gonna die in a much sweet way than a snake bite" she insisted

"you're not going to die!" the woman snaps, setting the snakes down. "they're not even venomous, calm down"

i watch in fear as the smaller red, white and black snake gets close to me, tongue flicking out and touching my knee cap. my heart hammers in my chest, god i hate snakes. i let out a sigh of relief as it turns its back on me, and slithers towards the statue alongside it's larger black counterpart.


"are we ready?" the brown haired man asks, looking impatient. "yes, Jesse, we're ready" Siebren nods, closing his books and setting them aside. the red haired woman pulls the worn leather book from her bag, reverently flipping through the pages until she reaches one of them covered in text.

she begins reading from the book in a strange language like nothing i've ever heard before.

Haru : Hey are we gonna die i say moving wth fright trying to reason wth them to let us all go and that we wont tell anybody ...

Lilly wiped the paint from her forehead "Hey Hey Hey! I'm not letting you run secret demon rituals on us personally I was just looking for a job not to be possessed by creepy kidnappers that are very good at painting bye the way" she gave them a cheery smile before going to wipe matthews forehead, he grabbed her hand and turned her around "sit still we arnt Trying to get murdered Because you can't shut up" he hissed and put her behind him

the red haired woman continues to read from her book, shooting us a glare. "you're not going to die" the man called Siebren speaks up, quietly. "you're here to help someone very important" he glances at the stone statue in awe, almost...excited?

"who are we here to help?" i demand, leaning forward only to be pushed back by the red haired woman. Siebren doesn't answer me though, still staring at the statue. "in all sixty years of being alive, i never thought i'd see this day" he whispers, clutching his map to his chest.

She didn't even glance at anybody else now, just watching the smaller and larger snakes slither around with a smile that honestly looked more like a malicious smirk. It didn't matter if they were gonna kill everybody cause if they were might as well find something nice to look at while they do it.

If they really weren't going to die like the people said then screw it, snakes.

"Who we helping you creeps? Oh, plus why do you have snakes? They're cool and all but if you wanna look real villous go for big fluffy cats."

"do not talk badly about the snakes" the brown haired man cuts in, glaring. a fain humming feeling fills the air, and everyone turns towards the statue, watching red slowly creep into the circle formed by the snake statue, until finally the whole space is one glowing red vortex.

the hair on the back of my neck stands up, and the red haired woman begins speaking louder and more feverishly, going so far as to raise he hand not holding her book into the air.

"I was NOT talking bad about snakes! I lo- W H A T"

Lei abruptly went silent and watched the statue with genuine fear, taking a couple of steps backwards while blinking like crazy.

'Either I'm blackout drunk somewhere, this is hell, or I'm about to be sacrificed to a god' None of those options sounded good in the damn slightest...
