You scramble up the tree as three humans, wielding what they call guns, a recent development, come into the clearing (or wherever you are I can't think of the right word). A dog trots at one of their heels.

"We lost him," says the one with the dog.
Another, with a humongous beard, throws his musket down in frustration, swearing. "You've got to be kidding me, Anderson. The bounty from that Griffin could've put food on the table for weeks!"
The third man, who has a huge scar on his face, glares at Anderson. "You say you're a tracker? I want my revenge on that beast for what it did to your face!"
"You never had a pretty face to begin with," snorts Beard Dude.

Just then, the dog starts barking at your tree.

The conductor glares at you. "No room for criminals," he growls. He looks pretty evil. You're not sure if that's actually a rule or not but he looks like he could throw you off the train if he wanted to, which he might.

I freeze. Two options here, try and hop away and likely get shot down or...pretend to be human? I didn't want to see them, or deal with them I look around for a way to get out of here as stealthily or safely as possible.

(Oops I typed your instead of my)

The men turn to your tree. "There it is!"
By some miracle, the dog stops barking, but it's too late. Suddenly, you hear the thump of something heavy landing on the ground, but you can't see what it is. Scar Face looks in its direction and immediately charges with a cry of rage. The other two look at each other. "I'll chase him, you investigate whatever beast is up there," Beard Dude decides, and runs odd after Scar Face.
You hear gunshots not too far away, a sharp cry, and a shout of triumph. "Come out," sings Anderson, ascending the tree. The dog, which doesn't seem intelligent, sniffs at the bottom of it.

"Ugh fine. Even though I'm not even a criminal. Pretty sure you go to jail if you are." He muttered getting off and walking to the store. Cussing in between of course. But I'm too lazy to type sstircks.

"Ouch!" he yells, dropping but unfortunately it's not very high up.
"That wasn't nice," he scolds in a sickeningly sweet tone, "Come on down and I won't hurt you. We can have a civil conversation. No need to act like an animals," he chuckles at his joke, rubbing his head.
You hear the loud footsteps of his companions - obviously they have never learned the meaning of stealth, and by the sound of it they're dragging something big or heavy.

You're forced to walk the whole hour - more like one and a half - all the way to the ******ed grocery store. On the way, you pass the main square, which is usually used for parades and celebrations and stuff, but since the new dictator took over, it's only been used for public executions. You see a crowd gathering - this can't be anything good.

I assume it's the griffin boy and with a quick twirl of my staff I whack the guy in front me so I can spin around and face the others, in an open and balanced stance.
(Btw I should mention most peryton's bite is deadly poison but I can get rid of that feature if you think it's too much or smth)
