Hello!
Im fairly new here but from reading around i found out about max stats
I did a quick read of a few posts that talked about it but its very scattered and unless im missing a search feature in forum i guessed maybe it would be a better idea to post a thread.
How would i go about it to start breeding for max stats?
better to focus on one thing? for example i wanna create genshin impact themed pets xD but i also want them to be viable in battle.
Maybe im creating a big headache for myself XD
Thank you for your time!

Generally, when doing max stats, if you want certain traits on them, you breed for those first, then, once you have your traits locked, you start going for stats, and then once you've finished with stats, you dye the final pair (or pairs) and use them to breed (if intending to sell, or just have more of that colour set)
The place you want to look is Player Guides
Some useful guides are:
Xavi's 6-vis Breeding Guide! for stuff on trait breeding
How to Stat Breed, WITH PICTURES!
for stuff on stat breeding
and post 10 of The Field Guide to Sylestian Fauna (which we swear we're going to break into several proper guides eventually (we say, as if that hasn't failed to happen for like, three years now) for stuff on how trait, stat, and colour inheritance work (some other posts in the guide might be helpful- there's one on philters and another on pet aging+ nurturing)
Doing a project of any sort takes a lot of time and dedication- doing a max (or supermax) project even more so. Many projects take a year or more (especially stat projects)
Some general supplies:
> The pets or essences you're going to start with. Depending on what you start with, you can help or hinder yourself; starting with regular wilds for a stat project, for instance, would take a LOT longer than starting with pets made via spring/fall/winter fest pet growing, with 4x stat boost+growing bonus (you're new, so you've only been present for summer fest, which as yet does not have the growing bonus mechanic) (even faster is starting with a majestic fabled 4xboost+2/2 grow bonus... but you've gotta be able to get enough majestic catalysts of the right species for that, and you're stuck with the one trait set if you're sticking to pb)
> stat philters (most people use prismatic philters for max stat projects, since they're just. objectively the best and fastest)
> stable space
> magical pies (if you want to speed up adolescent growth)
> infinite Genetic tester or access to someone who is willing to test your pets for you
I will say, max+supermax are, obviously, objectively the strongest, but you can do perfectly well with teams with lower stats. Our own main team's stats average about 79, for instance.
Basically
projects can take a lot of time and a lot of gold, pick your starting pets with care, get your traits breeding true before really going for stats

ohhh thank you so much!
Where can i read more about the boost fest?
I wanted to start with ryori but are they some of the uncommon pets on sylestia? maybe i should try to look into more acessible pets.

Ryori are one of the more uncommon pets in sylestia, being one of the four pets found in festival zones. (Spring - Aerdini iirc, Summer - Lighira, Fall - Ryori, Winter - Griffi). Other pets that are harder to obtain are fabled ones, other than the festival ones, namely Ferrikkis (found in LG), Ny'venes (bought in arena), and Nephinis (I believe they are very rare in Astryl's Vale, though I may be wrong). Puffadores are also considered pseudo-fabled for their popularity, and they can only be obtained by buying them in a store in Ethernia's Plaza outside of fest growing.

Also, to add onto the various things you'll need that Scath provided: make sure that you have access to infertility kits. This will allow you to protect the integrity, worth, and effort of not just your own max stat projects, but everyone else's as well ^.^
Just like the genetic testers, there are people with infinite infertility kits that offer free infertilizing if you're not able to get your own kit.

Ohh so before selling or releasing its better to make them infertile, if thats what i can take from that?
Will keep an eye for that then!

Before selling, yes. Sorry, should have been a little clearer about that, lol. This is so that someone else can't use your hard work to make easy copies and undercut the entire market.
Before releasing is your call. Released pets still technically belong to you - you can reclaim them at any time for 50 diamonds each ^.^

Aphelion mentioned Puffs, in there amongst the other fableds, so I feel I can clarify a few things with that. Puffs are 'psedo-fabled' because they get treated as fabled by rarity but lack the other main defining traits of a fabled species, being the higher stats (fableds averagely have double the stats of regular species obtained the same way (eg. tamed, made by enhanced essence etc), so a Tamed regular species has ~10-11 as the average, while the average Tamed fabled averages ~20-22 etc) and the longer breeding cooldown (regular species have a 3 day cooldown, while fabled have a 7 day cooldown)
That last point'll be relevant if you go with ryori- a fabled project will take longer purely by virtue of the fact that your female breeders will take longer to be breedable again after each egg than a non-fabled species
on fest stat boosting during pet creation- (also keep in mind that Exclusive pets have double the stats of Tamed pets, so Regulars average ~20-22, Fableds average 40-44 ('Majestic' is not one of these rarities, but is rather a completely different unrelated category. A Majestic theme has stats equal to any other member of its species)
Every fest, when you're making a pet via the pet building activity (like the sandboxes during summer) there's materials that you can use to boost stats. You can get up to a 4/4 boost to the stats. I believe it's +5 to the base four stats per boost, for a max of +20 to the final stats.
Unlike summer, in the other three fests there's another mechanic for pet growing, Condition (and i'm going to do this as best I can), which when maintained counts towards a Bonus. Growth proceeds at a set speed (another thing summer currently lacks), and when the status of it swaps from 'OK' to 'needs ____' you can fix it up to improve the Condition.
Condition has four stages- Normal, Good, Great, and Perfect, and it goes up a stage when it's tended within a certain timeframe, and drops down if left alone for too long (it doesn't matter who does the tending). Keeping the Condition high for long enough builds towards a Bonus (higher Conditions also speed up growth, so there's that, too)
The Bonus is 1/2 = + stats (+10 to the four base stats, I never remember hp or mana for these kinds of things), and 2/2 is +1 random carried trait
(Unless it is a majestic theme- majestic themes take a lot longer to grow, and since they're locked to one set of traits, do not share the same 2/2 bonus as other pets. Instead they get a second +stat bonus- hence that vene we linked in our last post with his stats in the 90s; stat at base 40+20 from boosts+ 20 from 2/2 Bonus on a majestic, +10 from prismatic philter)
