So I spent way too many diamonds haha and now I get a free 3-vis themed pet of choice. And I want to make sure I make the most of this opportunity, so I was hoping some more experienced players could give me advice on some of the rarest and most valuable themes I could ask for.

My favourite species are (not in order of favourites, just alphabetical):
- Ferrikki
- Lighira
- Lupora
- Ny'vene

Any suggestions on themes? Thanks in advance!

My advice would be to look through the ADvanced Search for themes of the species you want, make a list of the themes you like.

If you care about the value, take note of how many of that species there is in existence, see what they are selling for etc..

Alternatively, you can add a step, and look at the Wheel of Themed pets for those species you want. The Wheel is supposed to pull from themes that don't have many in existence, so those are usually fairly rare, though whether they are valuable or not doesn't necessarily follow, so again, go to advanced search and check selling prices.

Yeah, it can be a lot of work, but to me, this seems to be the best way to fiind a pet you really want (unless you are looking to sell it, then you would be better off 'selling' the ability rather than creating a pet and hoping to sell it.)

If you are planing on making a project out if it, i would suggest you to check eather amongst the very old/forgoten themmed (especialy for lupora, lightra and ny'vern), wild fabled festival zone encounter (mostly for ferrikki) or LG exclusives from eather the cave or the dongeon (the cave have 2 themme each for lup and ferrikki, all speacies are avalable in the dongeon). For the dongeon pets it may get tricky at first but as long as you can get breeding access to two others from this themme you should be able to make somthing decent.

Yeah, I've seen Shadow's guide. I was just hoping there was a better way than reading through every single pet, particularly with regards to the LG themes haha.

the lost grove is fairly recent, you should be able to find the LG temple pets in 2021 as for the caves based ones, from memory you have :

Cave spider Ferrikki
Diamond shine Ferrikki

Cave crystal Lupora
Geothermal Lupora

My advice, if you want to sell, is to pick a Nephini.
Nephinis are by far and few the rarest - particularly zone Nephinis - and they can go for millions of gold.

Alternatively,
The Wheel of Themed itself tells you about some of the rarest themes; if you go here and notice particularly the Tier 2 and Tier 3 (if a res is not what you want; I wouldn't go for one personally).
Although some of Tier 3 is pretty rare (especially the newer ones; and they can have Lost Grove res traits, which makes them pretty valuable), Tier 2 is rarer, in my opinion.

There won't be any under Ferrikki (because it was before the Rikki's time), but long before all the cool creation abilities we have like brewing and building sand castles, we had a wheel (much like the one we now have for Black Friday). This wheel had an incredibly rare chance to drop something known as a Wheel Pet - which populate Tier 2 in its entirety. Wheel Pets were arguably rarer than zone Nephs in their respective festivals, and even now most of their populations have not even hit 100. My recommendation is to go for a Wheel Pet, if you'd like something valuable, rare, and old.
