Boards have three rounds every seasonal festival, with each round lasting between four and five days, with several days break inbetween them.
Each Round has both a Battle board and a Nurture board for each species.
How to participate:
It is not required to click on any buttons to join in to doing boards.
You can view the different species boards to see how you are doing by going to the boards page and using the dropdown menu.
Boards usually start at either 6am or 12pm/midday site time
Boards end at the start of the stated end date (eg. "Contest Ends: 12/31/2021 at 12:00 AM" means the contest ends at the midnight rollover between the 30th and the 31st)
- Nurture Boards
For nurture boards, you get one point per nurture on the board matching the species you nurtured- so if you nurture a bulbori eggling, you get a point on the bulbori nurture board.
You can use the Nurture page to quickly nurture sylesti, especially if you know a player who has a large number of the species in their hatchery.
The other (and main) method is using the Advanced Search to specifically search for all egglings and hatchlings of the target species.
There is no way to specifically target a species in the Nurture page, and this is a deliberate decision which will not change.
- Battle Boards
You get points for battle boards only when fighting in the Seasonal Festival Zone.
The points you get are based on the species of pets in your team.
If you have a team of:
1 aurleon, 1 bulbori, and 1 draeyl, and fight a 1-enemy mob, you will get 1 point for each of the aur, bulb, and drae boards
vs a 3 enemy mob, you'd get 3 points to each of those three boards
if your team was 3 aurleon, vs 1 enemy, you'd get 3 aur board points
3 aurleon vs 3 enemies would get 9 points on the aur board.
> It is the pets on your party that determine what board you get points on not the species you are fighting (consider the fact that 5/8 fabled species cannot be found wild in any given fest, and 2/8 are the rarest things in the fest zone, with one only being themed, not appearing as unthemed)
> enemy mob type doesn't matter- bosses, nutcracker soldiers, reapers, wild sylesti all count for points.
> all enemies give 1 point regardless of difficulty.
Prizes:
For every 500 nurtures on a single species board, or 1000 battle points on a single species board, you will get a Contest reward pouch.
Each one usually contains some fest tokens and a pet creation item (for brewing/sculpting/growing) of rare tier rarity
At the conclusion of a round, all people who have placed within the top 15 of a board will get a Leaderboard Reward Pouch for that board (placing on multiple boards will get a reward pouch for each)
These Pouches contain five items each, though they will vary more by which season. Prizes are festival tokens, a catalyst (either regular or premium), a fertilizer/pearl/blood/ice water (also regular or premium), and generally something from among bundled agents/enrichments, gold, and fest specific items.
Contest Reward Pouch
Winter:
Gold (random, 2k, 5k, 10k), [Frost Token] (random 10, 15, 30), random low-rarity fest item*, random low-rarity fest item
(eg, [Blue Frosty Coating] x2, [Regular Frost Essence] x1, [Frost Token] x10)
Leaderboard Reward Pouch
Fall:
[Chocolate Coin] x50, [Trick or Treating Basket] x1, [Bundled Brewing Agents] x1, [Premium Vial Holder] x1, [Mystery Brew Catalyst] x1
Winter:
[Frost Token] x50, [Snow Wars Booster Pack] x1 (epic rarity), [Bundled Ice Sculpting Agents] x1,
[Premium Ice Water] x1, [Regular Frost Essence] x1
The four people who place 2nd to 5th on each board will receive a 2vis pet of the brewing/growing/sculpting theme of the species, while 1st will get a 3vis.
> Prizes are given out after Krinadon Parses them, usually within 2 days of the board's conclusion.
> The pets will be given out as egglings
> The prize pets are random, both in gender and traits. Battle board does not specifically give males, Nurture boards do not specifically give females, and the traits on the example pets are purely for display, not an indication of what the prize pets will hatch with.
> The prize pets cannot hatch with Restricted traits.
> Placing or Winning on one board does not preclude you from doing the same on other boards either during the same round, or during other rounds
Board Teams:
Any team can be a board winning team, it is perfectly possible to win on some boards with a team of wild-caught and well-equipped pets.
However, it is a lot easier to get points with a "board team" for the species you are after.
> Team typically lv30, sometimes lv50 (locked to the level using Philter of Unlearning, obtained from the scale shop). These levels provide the best balance for proficiency points, good available equipment, enemy HP, and enemy mob numbers.
>> Teams lv60+ are highly uncommon amongst dedicated battleboarders because fest zone enemies receive a large boost to hp at lv60 (and again at lv70, and at lv75)
>> Teams lv29 and under are uncommon because of the manner in which team level affects enemy mob spawns. Up until about lv15, only 1-enemy mobs spawn, 15 to about 25, you get 1- and 2- enemy mobs. 3-enemy mobs, which are the best for board grinding, don't really start to appear until 25+
> Team setup is most often Light/Fire/Fire. Some teams can pull off triple-fire, and some people use other team setups, but fire is the best for wiping out multi-enemy mobs. (this is also why lv30 is the most common level for board teams, as it gets access to the second proficiency point on the pets, along with Fairy Light and Explosive Fireball)
> Best equipment options are the lv26 Sanctuary of Saerielle Town Hall gear (requires a high reputation with SoS to buy, non-tradable), lv25 or lv50 mythic equipment from the dungeons (tradable, but expensive), lv25 or lv50 gear from the Arena (requires some time to grind out the arena marks to buy, non-tradable), or lv25 or lv50 legendary equipment (can be obtained in many ways, usually from Mission Satchels. Tradable- generally goes fairly cheap on the broker. Lv30 legendary equipment would obviously be better on a lv30 team, but only drops with rng chance from fest zone bosses lv30-34)

Team Builds
Light/Fire/Fire
Self-healing team with a full spread of moves that hit multiple enemies, slightly lower damage output than triple-fire. Not good for Bosses.
Lv30:
Light: 2Int
> Illusionist Gear, Evoker Gear, Sanctuary of Saerielle Runic Elven Shadow Gear, Ember's Armor of Flames
Fire: 2Int
> Evoker Gear, Sanctuary of Saerielle Runic Elven Shadow Gear, Ember's Armor of Flames
Lv50
Light: 3Int, or 2Int/1Agi
> Illusionist Gear, Evoker Gear, Archon Gear (mythic), Ancient Relic of the Reaver/Lightbringer (mythic)
Fire: 3Int, or 2Int/1Dex
> Evoker Gear, Archon Gear (mythic), Ancient Relic of the Reaver/Pyromancer/Lightbringer (mythic)
Fire/Fire/Fire
Team can't heal itself beyond Mend and healing items, but extremely powerful offensive spread across all enemies. Not good for Bosses.
If a lv50 team is equipped with Ancient Reaver or Ancient Lightbringer relics, however, they can mitigate the lack of elemental healing abilities
Lv30:
Fire: 2Int
> Evoker Gear, Sanctuary of Saerielle Runic Elven Shadow Gear, Ember's Armor of Flames
Lv50
Fire: 3Int, or 2Int/1Dex
> Evoker Gear, Archon Gear (mythic), Ancient Relic of the Reaver/Pyromancer/Lightbringer (mythic)
Water/Air/Air
Likely only viable as a highly competitive board team if both Air pets both have their moves Ranked (particularly, having r5 Razor Wind to be able to hit all enemies). Good for bosses.
Not a team that's particuarly newbie-accessible (primarily relating to ranking, either the time needed to do it ones-self, or the price tag on ranking services)
Lv75
Water:
> Tidal Lord equips, possible to do Warden substitutions, Vinethorn or above, preferably ranked gear +2 or higher
Air: 3Str/3Dex
> Storm Caller equips, Vinethorn or above, preferably ranked gear +2 or higher
