I have a pet, who is an adult and has not had a genetic mutator used on him. He is a ny'vene with some restricted carried traits (here). However, even though I have a mutator in my inventory it won't let me use it. Is there a secret requirement to using one I don't know about?

Mutators can only be used on tamed pets. That Ny'vene was bred (he has parents), so a mutator can't be used on him, sadly.
