I don't actually want to change the releasing feature, I just figured the title would get people to click and read because I feel like this still needs constructive criticism, even after the discussion I've had.

I feel as though the releasing feature of this game needs a better explanation.

The first time my things were bought and released, it felt like they were being "thrown away" by someone with some kind of malicious intent. I did not understand why someone would do that or what purpose it would serve, and because of that I felt attacked.

Because of this, I said and did some mean things as many other people have done on this website. Because of the lack of communication and a misunderstanding of the mechanic, I believed it was a personal attack or some kind of hurtful feature.

I was wondering if we could get some kind of universal tutorial for releasing, its functions and purpose on the website, and what bonuses it might give people. I would also like to ask that the rules surrounding it be made clear in a easily accessible place.

My reasoning behind this request is because I had no exposure to the feature, as I'm sure many other people have experienced, until I began talking with other people about it. It's only "a bad thing that happens" when you start the game and don't have enough space in your stables. Your exposure to it changes with the Lost Grove bonus or the festival bonuses and contests. I'm not even sure if there is another reason to do it, because I only know of those purposes from other people telling me about them.

I began on this site with the understanding that releasing was something that happened because you couldn't take care of something or you didn't want something. Because of that, I believed that the people who would release things were malicious or bad, or that in releasing pets I was abandoning them or throwing them away. However, after discussing it with people from the other perspective and gaining more understanding of the feature, I no longer feel that way.

I'm hoping that it might be like that for other people as well, and hopefully it will be less of a hostile topic to bring up.

The conversation I had about the topic can be found in this thread, the bottom of the main post has some of my clarifications because I either misspoke or was misinterpreted.

I wouldn't mind a releasing tutorial.

Please change your thread title to be accurate. I'd advise that you read the terms of service as well, specifically section three, h and j.

I'm unsure how I've violated either of those rules. In either thread I wasn't spamming, and in the original thread I was only pinging people who had responded when I (1) asked a question, (2) when I was responding to them, and (3) when I made this post. I never bumped either thread, I was also just responding. My phrasing in this post is with the best words I can use to describe my experiences on this website because I feel it is the best way to get what I mean across.

I also wasn't trolling anyone? And I was trying my best to be as respectful as possible.

Sorry if this sounds rude or upsetting. I'm really tired.

I would love a releasing tutorial and I think it'd be very beneficial. The releasing discourse has gotten really out of hand recently (on both sides) and something needs to be done about it, I think this is something that would make both parties finally come to amends.

Something that explains when you will need to release/the beneficial sides of releasing when you get to a greater player level would be great, so newer players will understand why their pets are getting bought and released.

I'm for anything that helps iron out misunderstandings new players may have with the game, particularly when it comes to releasing.

Perhaps the site needs something like an advanced tutorial aside from the little starting stuff with Jinxie that explains certain aspects of the game in greater detail. Not something on the forums but part of the main part of the site itself. I worry not enough new players spend time on the forums. Perhaps if there was an advanced tutorial/achievement system that Jinxie could point to early in the game after finishing the first bit with her? It could be a whole little different section with Jinxie doing a bit more thorough tutorial on certain aspects of the game. "Hey! Have you heard of releasing? There's certain benefits for doing this. The extended tutorial discusses this in more detail and there's achievements involved as well!" Perhaps I'm on too little sleep and too little caffeine yet in the morning but something along those lines. Players should be introduced to rewards for releasing probably a bit sooner in some way even if it's something like an achievement for releasing 1 pet, 25 pets, 100 pets.

it couldnt hurt things thats for sure. I have had several people mail me about releasing their pets and a few times things were getting to the point of me needing to block them. I dont buy peoples pets much anymore and i dont release pets unless they are bred/caught by me to avoid any future fallout.

I'd like to add another suggestion. This might be a little too much to ask. But I hope people understand I am not meaning this in a rude or disrespectful way. I know all the benefits of releasing pets. I've had them explained to me. So please please note I am not trying to come off as rude. I am fully aware that I have zero control over what people do with my pets. After they are bought. Which is totally fine. I'm aware my suggestion has pros and cons.

So my mission when I sell my pets, is to sell them to lower level players. I really struggled hard to get my hands on stunning pets. And so I always sell my pets for 10$. And I post about it on the forums so people can buy them. I do it all the time, I know what my pets mean to me. And I hope that I can help other players feel the same.

But my issues is I put a ton of pets on sell. And then someone buys all of them and releases them. Not leaving any of them to other people. I put on sell around 200 pets once. And they bought all of the pets. I messaged the person and told them. "Thanks for buying the children I hope you enjoy them." And they responded with " :/ " I looked and they had released them ALL. (If I can help it I always thank people for buying my pets.) I was really upset, because I really just wanted at least a handful to go to someone who was needing nice pets. Not saying my pets are stunning or whatever. But I'm trying.. LOL!

Suggestion:
I'd like the ability to select a set minimum level and max (player level) that I can sell my pets too. So meaning (example) I can set level 0 to level 25 to be able to buy my pets.

I understand that can be upsetting for some players. But I'm just trying to give to newer players. I'm very thankful there are nice players here that have helped me. And so I want to pay it forward.

I know I could make a forum where people can ask for pets and I can give them. But I want players to be able to get as many as they want. I want players to be able to pick what they want. And honestly, I don't really have the time to sit and monitor a forum like that.

Again I hope you know I'm not trying to hurt anyones feelings or to upset anyone. I don't hate people for releasing. And I am certainly not upset at them for doing so.
