Hi- me again, sorry. So, I was trying to add a genetic bonding to my pixie qitaris g1 slot, but for some reason it keeps telling me the seed "does not contain a trait for that slot" despite letting me add an m2. Does anyone know why this is happening?

the Sugar Plum trait set does not have a G1 trait, so you cannot bond a G1 on any majestic qit theme that uses that trait set.

The Sugar Plum trait set consists of G2 Sugar Plum Swirls, G3 Sugar Plum Swirls, M2 Sugar Plum Crown, and M3 Sugar Plum Wings

oh? i thought genetic bonding simply guaranteed a trait in the chosen slot, not anything to do with the trait sets.

That is the case with normal pets, where there's no specific trait set for a Themed. But with restricted, there's special traits restricted to only that Themed.

So let me get this right: Genetic bonding can only be used in slots in which a themed majestic pet has a trait in its set? Why is that? It's not like genetic bonding guarantees that the trait will be a restricted one, so why the correlation? (Just to be clear I'm talking about the fest garden if I somehow managed to mix up another game item)

While Regular and Fabled seeds have access to all non-restricted traits, the yellow-bordered Majestic seed themes each have one specific associated Restricted trait set, and that trait set is the only pool of traits that they have access to.
Even if you use a philter of trait disruption on a Majestic theme pet, it can only pick new traits from that one set of traits

In the case of the Pixie Plum qitari theme, it uses the Sugar Plum restricted trait set, and so can only Bond slots that have traits from that set.

Because, well, why is it a majestic in the first place? If it's just a Themed where you could access all the normal traits, why not just make it a Fabled or Regular? Majestic Themes have special traits that you can't get from Fabled or Regular seeds. There's no point in making it Majestic if you can only use other traits. And yes, Genetic Bonding can only be used in slots where the Themed Majestic have a restricted trait.
