Please note i wrote this story to a prompt "Super powers are common, but super heroes are rare. It turns out most people don't actually want to face death or dismemberment on a daily basis, including you. You enjoy the 9-5 and having a 401k, but my god that government recruiter won't take no for an answer."





DING DONG went the doorbell at seven in the morning, who in the hell is ringing my doorbell this early? I glanced at the calender hanging up on the builtin board in my office, and it stated it was Sunday morning. Now the only people who would ring a doorbell on a Sunday much less, at seven in the morning are either Mormons trying to force me into their cult or Mr. Myers. At least the Mormons can't do actual harm to me, unlike government recruiters.

I sighed heavily, pushing my heavy wood door open. It was both Mr. Myers AND the Mormon leader. I wrapped my robe closer to my body. "Are you both now teaming up on me? Mr.myers I thought you knew better than to put religious motives into government matters" I chittered them like they where children.

"May we come in, we won't leave without an awnser that has a real reason that you won't help us on this case INVOLVING religion" Mr.Myers said while literally trying to shove through the door.

"No you cannot, you do not have a warrent and this is private property. You do not have just cause to search and seize my property". Why did I ALWAYS have to remind the GOVERNMENT official of MY right as a US citizen?

The Mormon leader grabbed Mr. Myers. "He IS right, he probably won't help us since he literally is an entertainer for sexual desires, always degrad-" I grabbed the leader by his shirt.

"DONT YOU EVER DARE CALL ME THAT, I AM A DANCER" I yelled at him in his face to where he looked like he would piss his pants. "Laxura, you have assaulted John without provocation, you are under arrest and to be taken into custody of the government. You have been deemed a danger to society, anything you say, can and will be used against you".

"You can't just d-" I got cut off by Mr.Myers while being shoved into a power destabilizer cage. "I have every RIGHT to do it, you assulted an innocent bystander and now you're government property. If you do not do as you're told you can face death row or pain unimaginable. Think about never seeing your kids again"

I cried. I was about to get my kids tomorrow since it'll be my week with them.... but, the tasks they'll make me do, kill millions of people just because the corrupt government decides to....

I'll be their pet dog for now but once I get out.....I'll just state that the government doesn't know my superpower, for if they did, not one of them will be alive today....After all a blank card is a jester card......

And it's game over if I play it.....

Cool idea! It's dramatic and tells me that there's certainly a good backstory to your characters. I know it sounds like I'm an English teacher, but it's still true!!
