tamed pets are caught using traps, theyre an item you can purchase in the towns (purple text) on the map. ^^

As said above tammed pets are the ones you can catch but, while this is the main way to get them it isnt the only one. Any pets you get from exploring the world map, at the exception of the Forsaken Guardian Ny'vene eggs you can drop from the second dongeon, are considerated as tammed no matter if you caugh, addopted or even bough them (for the ny'verns and puffadores). Additionaly, any pet you encounter and caugh/adopted from a nest in the festival zone is also considerated as a tammed pet. ^-^

Just to reiterate, and maybe simplify, what has already been said, here are the ways you can obtain 'tamed' pets:

-catch them while exploring using nets (nets can be purchased in the main towns of each zone, from NPCs in festival zones, and from the Trading Post when you get to the Lost Grove)
-find an abandoned egg/hatchling while exploring in zones 1 & 2
-find an abandoned nest in zone 3, the lost grove, and festival zones (These look like a small nest with an egg in them)
-purchase an egg with scales from the scale shop
-purchase an egg or hatchling from the puffadore shop in zone 3's town
-purchase an egg or hatchling from the ny'vene shop in the arena in zone 3

I believe that's all of them, but if I missed any, someone feel free to add ^.^

the ny'vern egg from the second dongeon is the Forsaken Guardian Ny'vene, they are exclusive not tammed, this is why i mentioned it as the only exception to the general rule since otherwhise all pet you get from exploring are tammed. Everything else you said was right tho ^-^

FG venes dropped by Vierna are Exclusive, not Tamed, actually, since they're a Boss Drop
