So I'm trying to beat the garden or the magnates but I've run into a snag. I am faced with a undead hoard, I can beat all until the last wave. The last wave is after I believe 20 other undead I have to beat consisting of easy regular ones and quite a few armored ones. The last wave is 3 arch mages. I have my main pet which is a level 60 healing light pet, a level 51 fire pet, and a level 51 wind pet. I'm training up a water pet but that's slow going at level 15. Any advice? I get like half way to beating one of the three and suddenly either my healer and wind are gone.

with the hoards, they're easier without a fire pet, so you can bottleneck the stronger enemies into a single slot while the other slots are weak enemies.
Looking at the pets you mentioned though, they don't seem to have any equips on?

I moved their items to my other party for the time being as they were healing up. I grabbed a few more leveled pets in hopes to help my chances.

Do you know what kinds of equips go best with what elements?
Since they're lv50+, you can get lv50 epic or legendary gear off the broker to use (those are generally a good balance of availability, quality and price, since they drop from lv50 very hard mission satchels), but it's best to make sure you're getting the right gear for the pets

I don't know, I've just been using what I get from battling.

Water Tank (slot1)
- Assassin gear (Strength/ Agility)
- Proficiencies any of HP, Strength, Agility
Light Tank (slot1)
- Illusionist Gear (Intelligence/ Agility)
- Proficiencies leaning Intelligence, can also go HP, Agility
Light Healer (slot2 or 3)
- Illusionist gear or Evoker gear (Intelligence/ Dexterity)
- Profs in Intelligence primarily, Dex/Agi possibly later (one or the other generally)
Fire Attacker (slot2 or 3)
- Evoker gear
- Profs in Int and Dex
Air Attacker (slot2 or 3)
- Myrmidon gear (Strength/ Dexterity)
- Profs in Str and Dex
Water, Earth and Air are Physical elements, and use the Strength and Physical Damage stats, so they want gear that boosts their Strength stat
Light, Shadow, and Fire are Magical elements, and use Intelligence and Magical Damage stats, so they want gear that boosts Intelligence stat
Tanks (Earth, Water, Shadow, sometimes Light) being in slot 1, they want survivability, so they want Agility, for the boost to Defences and Evasion
Attackers (Fire, Air) wanting to output the most damage they can, you want Dexterity on them, for the accuracy and critical hit rate.
Light Healers and Water Buffers* can go with either/or on the Agi and Dex
(Water Buffer isn't such a viable party position until the pet is lv65+ when the element has access to more of its moveset)
Both Dexterity and Agility share control of a pet's speed equally
