i have a question how long can a egg be held in inventory befor it is no longer able to be claimed? i have 5 unused puff eggs in there that i want to use at a later time

It varies. Some items will be marked with an expiration date. Items not marked with an expiration date generally are available to be opened at any point in the future until further notice.
Sometimes, after many years, items are made defunct for various reasons and would no longer be useable if that happens.
