I'm trying to get some new hair and I ran out of Advancement points. I'm wondering how to get them and what else they're used for. Thanks!

Ways to get AP:

- Battling

- Breeding

- Missions

- I've heard some say AP can be obtained through nurturing, but I haven't paid enough attention to this to verify this since I don't nurture as much as I do the other three above.

What you can get with AP:

- Party Pet Pre-Save Slots(This would be so you can have different teams pre-set as a save to use as your parties/battle pets)

- Generator design slots(So you can expand how many designs you can have saved in the generator).

- Avatar design save slots(So you can have multiple saved avatar designs).

- As noted already, avatar base styles.

- To hire a stable hand to feed your pets for you, you need to have had at least 10,000 AP. This will allow you to hire a stable hand to feed your pets for you, rather than you having to do so yourself.

- In the future, there is a planned shop that will allow you to buy other items for AP.

as Draculina already said, certain avatar base things (eyes and mouths and such) can be purchased using AP. The ones that have the AP icon in the corner can be purchased by clicking the gold bag in the top right corner and selecting the 'unlock with AP' option (felt that needed a little elaboration, I've seen people have trouble with working it out).

Nurturing, I believe, is 1ap per 10 nurtures? (unfortunately I can't check these things since my ap count's over the 100k cap, but I think I'm reembering right)
