first: what area are you up to on the map?
(In viridian meadows, the areas are unlocked in this order:
Trollsblight Cavern, Fungus Grove,Nightfall Bandit Camp. You can also check the Quest Log and see what's there, I'm not sure if it logs the viridian meadows stuff or if it only kicks in in umbra forest)

Second, team setup- you currently have a light and water assigned, I'd suggest maybe running water in slot 1 (Seallusion's Prof of 1str should be fine?) with your light pet running as healer in slot 2 (Kasey's prof would be best as 1 Int with this setup option)
(of course, running tank light with sort-of-attacker water could also work for the moment)

I'm going to see if I can grab some gear off of the broker that should help you
for Seallusion
lv20 epic disciple relic
lv20 epic assassin armor
lv20 epic myrmidon bracelet
lv20 rare assassin bracelet

Kasey
lv20 epic evoker relic
lv20 epic illusionist armor
lv20 epic disciple bracelet
lv20 rare illusionist bracelet

Not the most optimal overall but it will be better than what they have overall
Optimally,
Seallusion
> Assassin gear if you go with him being slot1/tank
> Myrmidon if yo go with slot2/ sorta-attacker

Kasey
> Evoker if you go with her being slot2/healer
> illusionist if you go with her being slot1/healer-tank

Probably best to wait until lv25 to do the proper equip setups with lv25 legendary gear, though (lv25 legendary gear's generally some of the easiest good gear to get, since it drops from lv25 very hard mission satchels. This also makes it decently easy to find on the broker, and relatively cheap)

Key thing to know is how elements and party positions work, for gearing
Water, Earth, Air = Physical elements, use Strength stat
Light, Shadow, Fire = Magical elements, use Intelligence stat

Slot 1 = Tank position (enemies aim there most), good to have proficiency in HP, offence, and Agility (agi = defence, evasion), but varying by pet and player preference.
Usually Earth, Water, or Shadow elements, though Light tanks can also work
(below lv60, Assassin to the Physical tanks, Illusionist to the Magical tanks)

Party Healer = Light. Most people run them set up mostly like fire attackers (int and dex)
/ Buffer = Water. same but like air attackers (str/dex). Not really oriented to being buffers until later levels when they have more of their elemental abilities unlocked
However, it isn't a strict rule of thumb, and mixing and matching or just straight running agi over dex isn't that unusual
(sub60 Light healer, Evoker, Illusionist
Water Buffer, Myrmidon, Assassin)

Attacker = Air, Fire, best to boost offence and dexterity (dex = accuracy, crit chance)
(Fire, Evoker
Air, Myrmidon)

(also, you'll want to assign Koda's proficiency and equip him before sending him on more missions, or he'll fail them. You can check out the guide to mission pets and missions here for more in-depth mission setup info)

THANK YOU!

I managed to move the story along, I am now in Sanctuary of Saerielle. I am mainly having a problem figuring out how to modify my pets. Id like to change their equipment, but cannot seem to remember how. I am trying to figure out how to acquire currencies and what makes these pets better over the other, too.

I am keeping your reply open so I can try to follow it.

To change equipment:
Go to inventory
Click (switch to equipment) button
Use the Choose A Pet dropdown to select the pet you're gearing
Select either the equip you want to put on the pet in the inventory area, or the equip you want to replace that the pet currently has in their gear area (equip will highlight), then click the gear you're swapping it with

Gold:
acquired in many ways, see Guide to Making Gold (and the previously linked mission guide)

AP: Currently not used for much, though it is intended for there to someday be an AP shop
Currently used for buying party preset save slots, generator save slots, wardrobe save slots, and avatar base styles (eg, eyes, ears)
acquired from playing the game basically; battling enemies (so long as they aren't a lot weaker than your team), breeding, nurturing (I think it's ~10 nurtures for 1 ap?), completing missions,

Diamonds: Bought from the site for real money, or from other players via currency exchange (also can be a prize from official forum games)

Scales: From correctly nurturing egglings and hatchlings

On what makes pets "better" than others:
Base stats (the ones in the brackets) are the typical measure of how strong a pet is
Base stats range from wild tier (the stats you get on pets that are caught from the wild. These are the lowest possible stats a pet can have) up to Supermax (Base stats max (2000HP, 200mana, 100 str/int/dex/agi), plus LG Bonus stats, a LOT of breeding goes into these)

Examples:
Regular wild-caught nyte, with wild-tier base stats
A Supermax (the highest-tier supermaxes are only possible via having a legendary or mythical lost grove theme (or one of the six Vexxar-drop ferrikki themes) as part of the breeding pool (LG + stats on them being in the +60 to +90 range) and good rng luck on how few generations it takes to get max from there (LG + stats drop with each generation removed from the progenitor). Our nyte here is not descended from one of them, but still has fairly decent +stats)

using lower base stat pets can get tricky once you hit the Lost Grove (the lv60/65+ section of progression), especially before you have any attack ranks (attacks get exp only in the lost grove (or from Maws of Madness when it's available during fall fest), via being used and for winning battles) or good lost grove gear
(I believe my own Main team might be? the lowest statted pets to have beaten the Final Boss of the Lost Grove, and they're a team with base stats averaging around 79 across the board.)
(A large number of people swap to using Max stats or supermaxes once they hit LG, if it's within their financial range)

In terms of pet worth, selling-wise, "better", it'd be things like themed pets (depending on the theme) and project pets (stat projects, 6v projects (especially pb themes), just projects that people show interest in that might not be (super/)max stat or 6v)

I would be happy to take it off your hands. I am currently trying to level up Kasey and Seallusion. If you have any advice I am all ears. Currently working on unlocking the lands.

Excited to have found the site, again! Thank you for your offer!
