I am trying to get through the fungus grove, but all i fight are myconids!
Is there a way to not fight them and just continue with the quest?

The only way to progress quests in regions 1 and 2 (viridian meadows areas, umbra forest areas) is via battling. you can think of completing a battle like 'taking a step' (though fungus grove is an area that is one of the ones that has a chance to be the location Raided every few hours- I don't think you can progress plot while the raid is going on, though you do get a reward for raid participation (and help the raid end sooner))
Having a good team setup can typically help progress through battles faster (though it's trickier before you reach umbra forest and can get your third party slot); do you know how elements, party position, stats, and gear work together?
