MotD: Spring Festival scheduled
for May 10th-17th.
Update: It is now 10May24, which means no further bets may be placed. Now we wait for the actual start of Spring Festival and see who wins!
Back again! This is a betting pool, just for fun. It works mostly like any other pool, with a minor adjustment to deal with the fact that, in Sylestia, it isn't possible to send gold directly to another player. (I am not yet prepared to handle Diamond entries.)
1. Decide on what day you think the Spring Festival will actually begin.
2. Post your guess here. Do ping me. And don't PM me. (This is an exception to my usual rule.) Yes, you are allowed to guess a date that does not fall within the range given in the MotD!
3. Immediately before or after posting your guess, send me one or more items that are suitable for being sold back to the game. Examples are a Fairy Mushroom or a piece of Equipment. It is perfectly okay to bet one Fairy Mushroom, but remember, the more you bet, the larger your share of the prize if you are a winner. I will document your guess and your bet and then accept your trade.
I will sell the items to the game to create the Spring Festival Pool. Once the Spring Festival actually starts, I will divide the Pool proportionately among all who guessed correctly. (Since I am still learning how to run a pool, there won't be a vig--that is, I won't get a percentage.) I'll PM each winner to let them know how much they've won. Then each winner mushrooms me for the amount of their prize. I will return the item you send so that you lose nothing when claiming your prize--even Fairy Mushrooms. Piccolo will be on his best behavior--won't you, Piccolo?--and will not eat them.
What if the sender says I can eat the mushroom? Just asking.
