Happy 12th Anniversary!

Another year and Sylestia keeps chugging on! Thank you to the hundreds of players who call Sylestia home, the thousands of players who still check in from time to time, and to the thousands of players checking Sylestia out for the first time. Development has slowed a bit more than I'd like, but we are still pushing along and still have a lot of plans for Sylestia's future. As a special thanks, everyone who has logged in over the past year or who logs in today will receive a [Sylestia's 12th Anniversary Cloak] Avatar Item!

I am still working on a complete Breeding Grounds overhaul, which is my number one priority outside of Events and Festivals. After that, I will most likely begin working on figuring out how to rebuild our entire exploration system from scratch, which is going to be the most significant game-changing development in Sylestia's entire existence. It will be a very large project, but something that I have been brainstorming on for literally years now. If we can get over that hump, I think Sylestia will have a very long and bright future ahead of it. It will open a ton of doors for me to add all sorts of new content into the game at a consistent pace.

In the meantime, this year's Winter Festival is about to kick off later this week! Right now, I am aiming for Friday, December 20th. However, it's very possible I may need an extra couple days. This time of year is always a massive crunch with Fall Festival, Black Friday Extravaganza, Winter Festival, and IRL holidays all colliding at once - so these things happen.

As a fun thing, I encourage everyone to reply to this post with their favorite moment of the past year! My favorite part of this past year was initially releasing the Solar Eclipse event back in April. I had fun developing the event and enjoyed everyone's excitement when it would pop up. =)

My favorite moment was making so many new friends on here! I had been gone for a bit, so there were lots of new people to meet. I know that is not a specific moment, but it is the best part of this year for me!

I enjoyed getting more community events with the festivals, as well as having a new boss to fight with the addition of the Headless Horseman. :)

My favorite was the brewing/sculpting events of the festivals! Its fun to see what molds/catalysts we get and give it to someone else who needs said mold/catalyst

honestly I think my favorite thing from this past year was rediscovering this website. it was an odd rabbit hole that I got started down that I'm not fully sure how it started (this year was rough irl) but what I do remember is that I ended up rediscovering a bunch of webgames that I used to play/visit a lot in the past and getting back into them in one form or another and Sylestia was one of them.

it was quite the blast from the past after I was able to finally log in for the first time since about 2018 and since then I have fallen back into it when I have the time. from logging in just before the summer event started to this past halloween event (and finally getting the Trickster title I wanted for so long, that being a core memory of this site I have) and soon the holiday one.

its been nice to get back into the groove of things here. be it the new stuff or just stuff I dont remember or didnt learn in the past. I honestly look forward to starting my own projects from 6vis, max, or super max (given I understand those terms fully XD) and even have a few in mind that I hope I can start soonish. I look forward to whats to come and I hope that next year is a good one ^^

My favorite moment was probably several years ago...but the Oops luffoxes for Easter. Krin forgot an important detail or made an oops, and left it going for at least 8 hours as he'd gone to bed.

This community has and will always be one of the very best in my opinion, out of all the games I have played. The admins constantly care for the community and the game itself and provides entertainment as needed. Real life happens to everybody- server changes, unplanned emergency maintenance, bugs, etc.

The communication between admin and the players have been absolutely amazing and definitely one of my favorite parts of playing and checking in here.
