So, my ultimate goal is to breed these two Zolnixis:

G3: Advanced Runes
M1: Tri Tails
M2: Comet Moth Wings
M3: Talismans


G1: Ornate Spangles
G2: Fallow Deer
G3: Life Lines
M1: Tri Tails
M2: Spirit Flames
M3: Talismans

The male is midnight-sky themed, and the female is inspired by the sunrise. I'd like to work on the male first, as I already have a male that carries all six of the required traits, with one visible (can't for the life of me find a female with the right combinations).

However, I also have the resources to acquire two or three essences (depending on whether I get enhanced or mystical), and I have noooo idea where to start. x_x If any of you experienced breeders out there have any advice, it'd be greatly appreciated! I know I will eventually need dyes to get the exact colors - right now I'm more worried about getting the right traits.

As far as wanting to save resources, try looking for nixis that only have certain traits that your dreams have.

Like I'm sure Ornate Spangles/Fallow Deer/Tri Tails/Spirit Flames/Talismans for your 2nd project are overbred.
Try looking for pets that only have these (don't get pets that have other carries in places you don't want), and use them to help along your project.

As far as essences go, you can use 4 enhanced essences to create a 6vis project. I would look at Luohs' Hell's Rising project.

Thanks, Flute! I've managed to get 1-vis Nixis for all of the traits I need, in large part thanks to Katherineac. Per her suggestion, I'm breeding four two-vis offspring for each set -- so four will have Spirit Flames/Tritails, four will have Talismans/Fallow Deer, etc. It's going to allow me to end up with more than one line of offspring. I'll be able to sell some and also keep some for myself. And, surprisingly, it hasn't been that expensive to do this! I was expecting to spend a lot more gold than I have. xD
