We have released a new Fabled species: the Aeridini! It is our 21st species to be released. The Aeridini are in the wild only during the Spring Festival and only from the Festival Zone.

General Information
The Aeridini is a Fabled species that appears once every year at the start of spring. Its arrival always marks the beginning of the Sylestian Spring Festival. Aeridinies spend much of their observed time pollinating Sylestia's many different types of flowers. Their diet consists almost exclusively of nectar, making them excellent candidates for pollinating. It is also thought that the Aeridini is a close relative of the Nephini due to their dragonkin ancestry and their similar physical features.

Behavior
Aeridinies are very carefree creatures, that is assuming you aren't harming their flowers. Aeridinies will become very aggressive if they feel that their food source is threatened. Aeridinies are also very nurturing and have even been observed helping both other species of Sylesties and even Sylestians themselves. Due to their exclusive nature, not much is known about their offspring, breeding habits, or their lifestyle outside of the few weeks they spend pollinating flowers each year.

Physical Features
Aeridinies, while similar to the Nephini, have a few unique characteristics. Aeridinies have very long, thin, flexible tongues that they use to drink nectar, which makes up their entire diet. They also have long, flowery antennas that are thought to help them detect specific types of flowers in the wind. They also do not have any type of hind legs. To make up for this shortcoming, they have three different sets of wings that allow them to always remain in flight without getting tired. When Aeridinies rest, they find a high, safe perch and curl up on.

Aeridinies have also been seen with various types of wings and tails. It's thought that these features are either what controls the Aeridini's choice of flowers or their choice of flower decides their type of wings and tail. Regardless, all Aeridinies have beautiful flowers growing from the tip of their tail. They use their tails to help pollinate flowers throughout Sylestia and, in rare circumstances, for camouflage from threats.
