Hi, i'm new here and I was creating a sylestia pet when these options come in. Visible, Carrying and Not Carrying. What does Carrying mean? I know it is 1 point, which is why I'm wondering this. Could somebody please help me? ^_^;

Welcome to Sylestia!
Carrying a gene means that while it is not visible on that sylesti, it's possible that the trait could be passed down to it's offspring if you breed it with the right mate.

Also, if you want to learn more about breeding I recommend reading this thread! It really helped me a ton.

@Starfall2466,

Carrying means that the pet will carry the gene. It will not be visible, but it can be passed onto its offspring.

If you breed two pets that carry a certain gene, their offspring will have a chance of having the gene be visible.

Let me know if you have any other questions and welcome to Sylestia.

Carrying means that the pet has the trait, but isn't showing it. This is important for breeders because they could breed a pet carrying a certain trait with another who is either carrying or showing the same trait, and their offspring may have a 25%-75% of showing that trait.

In genetic terms, basically, Aa is carrying. Whereas AA is showing. And when you breed em, the chance of getting a pet with visible trait is higher than that of breeding where one mate has no trait.

It's hard to explain, but carried genes are taken into consideration when breeding them for the genes/mutations. xD
