Do you buy pets for stats?
How would you price them?

hi zar o/
there are only two specific cases when i bought/asked for stat-specific pets:
1. bought some of oogbar's stat-boosted pets that he didn't need, just for arena
this is only because i was having a hard time and this was pretty beneficial; each pet was like 50k-60k a pop at best, which is nice imo
2. just asked for pets that were offspring with philters on them (eimell tossed an int philter on this boy) or were part of a breeding project for stats (i owe black for giving me one of his project babies, he really didn't need to but he's uber nice and we should all know that (y))
in this case they kinda weren't expensive, some were gifts or favors but honestly they weren't really projects at the time they were given to me, but considered "failures" or unneeded babies
the truth is that i honestly think that stat breeding takes quite a bit of investment to break grounds into big-difference stats; along with that, not many pursue this method as seriously as other players.
i would believe that said players who do stat breeding would charge high to secure their investments in stat breeding (as it takes many gens and it's easy to just take some babies from other peeps and make their own stat breeding farm from the progress of the original seller). hence i won't be surprised if say a pet with base stat 100+ everywhere went for 150k+, or superHP pet went for 80k+, but don't mind me, throwing out numbers here.
this being said, i would say it's up to whoever starts to sell in on this. kinda sounds like a monopoly, since the first one to start establishes prices so to speak. but then again not everyone prices their stuff the same.
i personally do not philter my pets with the idea to superstat them later on because i cannot think too far ahead, like gens ahead. kudos to peeps that do /o/ buying them is another matter entirely however.
a better question is to ask whether stat breeders do it for achievement or for profit. but of course that's my view aha

thank you so much for the extensive reply.
I breed pets for stats, just because I can... I'm at 80-90 at the moment because I'm not doing it as seriously as some and I'm unsure on whether or not to sell or for how much. They certainly were incredibly expensive.

I'm actually very interested in stats breeding and I did buy some quite high stats pets for stats to start my project a while ago. When buying the pets, I used to not care about the genes and mutations as long as they're stronger than average pets but after I knew there is a stats cap in this game, I was thinking to restart my project with 6vis pets that have 120 mana. I think it would be fantastic to have 6vis pets with 100+ stats and 120 mana.
I already have some pets that have 120 mana but some of them aren't 6vis, so I still need to wait a while to start my stats breeding project.
As of now, I don't have any intention to sell my finished projects offsprings, but if I changed my minds in the future, I want their prices to be higher than wheel offsprings as I've sacrificed a lot of time and diamonds (and magical pies) for the offsprings...
