I've been wondering where avatar items drop. I'm especially curious about the red arch-mage staff :3 Also, the mushroom staves. Can someone please tell me? ^^

You are in luck. There is a thread that just started that is devoted to avatar items. It doesn't say where everything drops, since it is new, but if does say where a lot of things drop.
You can find it here.
I just quickly looked through it, and it doesn't say where the Myconid staffs drop, but I'm pretty sure they are random drop from Myconids in Umbra Forest. I think I've gotten 1 in the 2nd dungeon from the second optional boss fight and another from the random Myconids in the raid event leading up to killing the Myconid King.
