Hi guys
I am trying to get through the Enigmatic Grotto. However, I'm stuck at this part where three ogres jump out at me. One of them clobbers one of my two party pets and knocks them unconscious. The other pet isn't strong enough to take on all three at once, so I lose each time.
I've tried it three times now but died each time, and now I can't afford to revive my pets.
Any suggestions on how to get past this battle?

1) Spend some time acquiring mission pets and sending them on missions:Guide for Missions. This will get you gold, elixirs, and revival potions. You need to start a stash ;-)
2)Save up gold for your third party slot! This helps a lot.
3) Kick Ogre butt.

You're not alone, I have that problem with THREE pets in party. one 4 star and two 3 stars is just too much, even if I have spent the time grinding my pets to 30 to face them. :((( I think I will be stockpiling too, it just isn't winnable without a ton of potions or over-leveled pets.

I remember this particular fight being really tough for me. The best I can suggest is collecting several revive potions, and getting a third party slot :O

I'm going to assume your three party pets are Sweetie, Muffin, and Gerard... Gerards kind of a guess since he's on a mission atm. One thing I notice about your three pets is that they are all geared for physical damage. You may have better luck with a more well rounded group, I would definitely suggest using one magic proficiency. They also have some unspent proficiency and stat points - and those will be a big help.
What proficiency and stat points have you assigned so far?

Hi Divinis, thank you for messaging me with help. Gerard has a light proficiency, Muffin has air, and Sweetie has shadow.
I didn't realize until I had started playing the game more seriously that I hadn't really specc'd right or put enough thought into my teams, and I thought about re-doing that or just leveling up other pets, but it's just kind of overwhelming. I didn't really look at any leveling guides or build guides or anything like that before playing. :(

Well you will definitely want to redo their stats. It will help A ton, and it's pretty easy.
at the moment you can only use magical or physical damage. Light, Shadow, and Fire are magical trees and rely on intelligence to boost their magical attacks. Any points put into strength for these trees are useless.
In the same way the Air, Earth, and Water trees are physical trees that rely on strength to boost their attacks. Any points spent on intelligence for them is wasted.
They've kept it fairly simple, and there are a variety of ways to set up a team and win fights, but the magical/physical damage is probably the most important concept to get for speccing and for gearing. If you're interested in guides there are quite a few, or if you have more questions, feel free to pm me!

what I had to do was overlevel my pets. by like... a lot. i got my team about five levels higher than the ogres and it was a bit easier. i also did as many short missions as i could (the one hour ones) in order to accumulate gold and experience for my pets so i could purchase a third slot three is a lot better. grinding at the shrine is good because i seem to get a significant amount of experience orbs there, i guess. also, get some revival potions and health restoring potions. on the first turn you can revive the pet they knocked out and have its next move be mend, then you can restore its health.
