So, you might be wondering, just who is the peddler? The peddler, is a strange guy who can be found in both dungeons and all of the zones of Umbra Forest. When you find him, he tries to sell you a treasure box. The main question is, is it worth it to buy his Treasure Box? This FAQ is to help you decide.
There are seven zones that you can find the box, and the cost of the box depends on the zone. In general, the lower level the box, the cheaper. The main exception seems to be Nightfall bandit dungeon. The box there appears to be around 3000g, while the same level box at Faerina's Shrine is only 2500g. There may be some some fluctuation on the price of the box. However, the most common price is listed below.
The most common prize is gold, and the amount of gold is always less than what you paid. However, that doesn't mean it isn't worth it to buy his boxes. When you don't get gold, you will get really neat things, such as Egglings, Essences, Equipment, and Potions. They are less common, but might just make it worth it to buy his boxes.
Of the three egglings recorded, one had two visible traits, the other had one visible and 2 hidden. So, if you want pets with lots of traits, this might be the way to go. Unfortunately because there are so few egglings recorded, it is unknown if this is normal, or if the people who got the egglings were just really lucky.
It is unknown if essences drop more in high level boxes, however, it is know that essences do drop in the lower level ones. So, it would be possible to search low level areas looking for the peddler.
You can still find the peddler after you complete a zone. So, if you are questing and don't find him, don't worry you can come back later.
According to Krinadon, the peddler is not found in the Orchard or other new zones. He's been replaced with Fern. However, that doesn't mean that there won't be random events that pop up in various places for one time deals.
In the next couple of posts, I will place lists of items that were found in boxes, and what zones the Treasure boxes were found in.

Yay, the peddler has now been confirmed to be found in all the zones of Umbra Forest!
So, I guess the guide is now mostly complete. I will still be adding any boxes find, and I would love it if others add their boxes here too. Since the more boxes the more accurate the information is.
