Marx and Coral are my main battle party peeps. But I have stated them correctly? I want Marx to be physical and Coral to be magical. I keep getting knocked out by the level 30 monsters in the grotto, and don't have a lot of lvl 30 equipment. Also, should I get a third party member and train them up to be both Physical and Magical? What would you recommend?

@Harpy,
When you battle with these two pets does it say they do magical or physical damage? Because they could actually be the opposite of what you have made them. If that is the case you should reset their talent points and reconsider their proficiency. Yes, you should for sure get a third pet but you need to first find out if they are physical or magical attackers. Just battle with your two mains and find out what type of damage they do. If you need more help figuring things out after that either pm me or post her and I will be glad to help you.

Marx does Physical, and Coral does magical damage. When you say to first find out what damage they make, did you mean the first two, or the new team member too? Is it not possible for a pet to do both Physical and magical damage?

What I meant was that when you attack with a pet it will say if they do physical or magical damage. If you have given a pet a bonus to magical but the actually do physical you will lose a lot.

@Harpy,
Ok, first things first, yes you should unlock the third pet. If I remember correctly, Umbra forest is designed around having 3 pets.
Don't split your damage between physical and magical, focus on one stat. It is better to focus on one or the other, splitting between the two will hurt your damage and make things must harder. Make sure the whichever one you focus on benefits your proficiency. Air, Earth, and Water are all Physical Proficiencies, while Fire, Light and Shadow are Magical Proficiencies. Strength increases your physical damage, while intellect increases your magical damage. For your damage pets, I recommend putting all your proficiency points into the stat that increases damage. And all your stat points from level ups into the same stat.
So, for example, I have a pet in the Fire tree, I put all the proficiencies into Intellect and all my levels ups into Intellect too. For a Air pet, I'd put all the proficiencies into Strength and all my level ups into strength too.
I looked at your gear, at I don't see any major issues. I do notice that you don't have a tank. If you are having issues because your pets die too fast, having a tank is really useful.
A tank is a pet with high health. Most tanks are Earth, Water, or Shadow. Any proficiency could be used, but those are the most commonly used ones. Then, put all proficiency points into health. There are three ways you can do the stat points you get on level ups. You can put all of them into health, you could put all of them into agility, or you could do like I do and put half into my attack stat (strength for Earth and water proficiency, intellect for shadow proficiency) and half into agility. Any of those three methods would work fine.
For tank pets look for for gear with your main attack stat and Agility. For damage pets look for gear with your main attack stat and Dexterity.

Also pets will do magical damage if intelligence is their highest stat and Physical if their strength is higher. You don't really need to worry about what damage they do before they are statted, they'll change to what you want.
