Is there some sort of trick to dungeons? Some pet level where they actually become winnable? xD I ask, because my two best Sylesties are still getting soundly whupped, so I'm thinking there's something I'm missing somewhere along the line...

Dungeons are the game's current end-game content. As soon as a dungeon becomes available, it most likely is not able to be beaten.
For the Nightfall Bandit Dungeon, I suggest saving up and purchasing a 3rd party slot and then raising a 3rd pet.
Run it a few times to farm the bosses you can defeat and get some gear. You can also try progressing the story and gaining some more levels.
At that point it should be able to be beaten.

Thanks! I'll go ahead and work on leveling up and adding another slot then. I hadn't realized the dungeons were super new (probably because I am too, lol.) Anyways, off to read up on it now
