how do you level them? The ones i got from eggs in the wild aren't levelling but the one i bred and the ones i bought are...

All pets are leveled up by either battling with them or by using experience orbs on them. Pets can't be in your party until they are at least adolescents, so you can't level hatchlings up. (though I have noticed that sometimes pets hatch at different levels. I am not certain what causes that if that's what you are wondering)

Nurturing pets does give them some xp. that or other people viewing them or both. Sorry I'm not sure.
For bred pets, they get some of their parents xp. That is why they can hatch at different levels.
