Hello everyone! We will be holding design contests once again for the Spring Festival! Please make sure to read the rules carefully!


Rules

1. Design an Avatar Outfit for the Spring Festival. Please use the following bases to draw your avatar items on.

Male Avatar Base

Female Avatar Base

The following can be included all in one entry for avatars:

1 Avatar Outfit
1 Avatar Wings
1 Avatar Back Item
1 Avatar Held Item
1 Avatar Head Item

2. You must draw the items on the avatar base. In case your drawing skills aren't great then along with your drawing you can include a description to better help us envision your avatar items. If you are unable to draw something, then I am sorry, there will be no exceptions.

3. Avatar Items submitted must be Spring Themed. So anything to do with the Spring season, this includes any holidays that fall in the Spring season, spring weather etc.

4. Please do not reserve posts. If you reserve a post I will delete your post.

5. Before submitting your entry please make sure to scan the thread to see if someone else has done something similar. Try to make your entry unique and if someone has already done something that you were wanting to do...then I highly suggest you pick something different.

6. You may only submit ONE official entry. If you wish to submit more then you can send me a PM with drawings of your avatar item ideas. However all PMed entries that are sent to me will not count for prizes.

7. The end date is April 17th 2016 at 11:59 PM server, after that the thread will be locked.

Note

I am very aware that it's typical to use google to search for ideas when designing things. However, it is extremely important that if someone happens to be referencing another person's artwork, it should not be possible to google it and find exactly what was used as reference.Please make sure to change it enough and be creative enough that you're making it your own design. This is extremely important not just for ethical reasons but also for legal reasons when we're implementing something onto our site. Thank you! :)

Prizes

All entries that are picked will have their avatar items created and be given one free copy of the submitted items. Everyone that participates will also receive a participation prize.

Don't comment on someone's entry unless you have something nice to say. If someone copies your entry then have faith in us that we will determine the correct winner. Please do not fight over entries, if I see anyone doing this in the thread then whoever is fighting will be disqualified.

Can we draw the bases by hand? My laptop freezes every time I open up the program I usually use, so I can't do it... I can draw the base and scan it to send it in...

Lamb outfit, lamb head, pygmy lion held, neck bow back item, and I currently have nothing for the wings lol
I might add a male version later.

Why don't you just open a screenshot of the bases, Thenightfury? Just recrop the size back down to the appropriate number of pixels to fit in the post after. :)

Good idea! I might try that... Plus, when I drag the image into the app (That how you open them with it) It freezes almost automatically...
EDIT: Just tried it, still won't do it. Even tried some of the online art programs, and my computer froze (It reboots quickly)

Dewdrop Rose Garb, Wings, Circlet.


Back Item:


Held Item: Transparent flower umbrella, with crystal raindrops hanging from it and stamens at the top.


Male version:

A bit disjointed, but they aren't really meant to go together I don't think. XD


Head Item: Floppy ears. Two floppy bunny ears that go down past the shoulders. Comes with short-cut choppy hair.

Held Item: Nibbling Baby Luffox. A little baby luffox clining to your arm and hand while nibbling on your fingers. :)

Back Item: Bushy Squirrel Tail. Kinda self explanatory...

Outfit. Woodland Caretaker's Outfit. A dress for women and a shirt and pants for guys. (Not much difference, so I didn't draw the guy...) The boots have fur on the top that's all rugged. They also have a bandanna that is all torn and cut up that goes down to a cut-up torn cape. The dress/shirt has no sleeves and has a laced front that reveal an undershirt. There are sharp shoulder plates that jut out from underneath the bandanna. There is also a double belt around the waist/hips. On the guy the pants are tucked into the boots...

Here's my entry (My art program makes my computer a bit sick, so it doesn't really work too well... That's why it is hand-drawn)

Without further delays, here is my entry, the 'Nature Spirit' avatar set:



If you can't tell what each item is, here is a guide. All are also based of the Fae from the Throne of Glass series, still being written.

Wings: Based of the new branches of a new tree. They're green shoots, not brown :)
Head: Based of Mao the Cat (The general cuteness of it) but it is a vulnyx. I originally planned it to be for the held, but couldn't design it well enough .Also cause Sylestia doesn't have a head item like that xD

Outfit: It is a Nature Spirit! (I'm into spirits). The 'wings' are connected to the dress and her hands with bracelets, as well as a necklace (Drawn on the side to show the designs on them)
There is no back or held because I can't draw that sort of stuff...

I would have put a festival we have here in spring, but it's just flying kites...

It also has no male version, because I don't think the males would like to have a dress on, and I can't design a male Nature Spirit

I decided to try to do some Mother's Day items, since I noticed there are a lot of mamas on the site and it is something celebrated in the spring.

Held: Motherly Love Aurleon; featuring a mother Aurleon snuggling her chick
Outfit: Working Pursuit; designed after a working mama!
Head: Mother's Bloom
Wings: Chains of Love; golden chains held together by flowers.
Back: Chain curtain- I actually would have liked to do it thicker, but I couldn't make it look right. Sorta suppose to look like one of those beaded door curtain things, but chains and flowers instead.



**the male is reversed, don't know why! it isn't in my program but when I save it always is, sorry about that!!

My favourite day of spring is April 1st! So I made a Jester Outfit :D I may make a female version with a puffy skirt instead of the pants but I'm not sure if I'll have the time~
