It took me having two sylesties before I was able to beat him. I used both pets to attack each enemy until they were just about dead then one would finish that one off and the other would move on to the next. Then both again would target one enemy till dead and finally Cereth. It might also help if you have healing potions which are usable during battle. Before you use your attacks, use the potion on the sylestie who needs healing, then use your attacks and end the turn. Hope this helps. *edit* I should have mentioned, you must first increase your party limit. That can be done in town. Then you can battle Cereth with two pets.

It should be easier now too. ^^ He got hit in the head with a brick, you know! (XD)
