so... Apparently even though I'm clicking on the hatchlings and eggs I'm not getting any scales for it. Do they happen randomly or am I hitting a bug that no one knows about?

@Thlydd,
Are you nurturing them correctly? You have to read what they want and then take the appropriate action.

This confused me a lot for the first couple days until someone explained it to me.
When you're on the Nurture Hatchlings page, are you clicking on the eggs/hatchlings themselves, or the link underneath them?

There isn't anything that says they want anything just the status page with the information like colors and genetics and the hatch/hunger meter and the owner stuffs....

It sounds to me like you are clicking the link underneath the egg/hatchling. When you are in the main nurture page with the ten Sylesti being offered for nurturing, what you want to click is the image of the egg/hatchling, not the ID number underneath it. Doing so should bring up a larger image of the Sylesti with text saying something about the pet (whether it's cold, hungry, restless, smart, etc). At the bottom there will be a set of options you can click. Select the one that fits the mood/condition of the egg/hatchling, and you will have nurtured the pet.
I hope that helps!
