If you planted a seed and the contest ends and the plant hasn't fully grown what will happen to the plant?

It will be harvested for you if you cannot harvest it in time or if it is not fully grown by when everything closes down.

Correct!

Those things are so you can add them to make the plant grow faster. They do not kill or harm the plant though. The plant grows regardless of additives and when gardening closes, you still get anything and everything you plant (Sometimes it takes a day or two but sooner or later all plants end up as eggs in your hatchery)
