Hi everyone. I was recently talking to Savynn about genetic diversity in Ny'vene. As Ny'vene are slower to breed, and there are less of them around, I have noticed that many people are more likely to hold onto their offspring. This eventually will start to cause some trickiness in breeding as people find more and more of their Ny'vene are ending up related.
We were talking about possible solutions to this, and Savynn suggested that we could do a breeding trade, and I thought it was a good idea we should possibly share and make a place for on the forums.
Here's the idea: You post a list of your females that you wouldn't mind trading a breeding of. Someone else sees your female, and contacts you. They offer you the next breed of their female for the next breed of yours. If you accept, you both pick males, either those up for public breeding, or if permitting, some of one of either of your own males, and then arrange for the breeding.
When both eggs/hatchlings are available, you either put them up for the other person's ID number either for 1 gold each (if your own males were used), or, for the price of the public breeding male's breeding fee if one was used. That way it stays a straight across the board trade, in case one person picks a rather expensive male and the other doesn't.
To keep the thread tidey, please post only your females you are willing to trade breedings with here. Trading offers should go in PMs to make sure they are seen by the female's owner. Also please keep in mind that Ny'vene have a long breeding cooldown, so females posted here may not be available to breed the day that you make an offer.
I'll get the thread started with my own females. ^^
I plan on adding some more males with breeding costs soon but I often like to have the first offspring of pets I really like. If females aren't requested and it's time for them to breed I will breed them as usual. Also, since some of these pets have been bought as extras from others' breeding projects I don't want to breed them with extra pets from that same project unless the original owner is okay with it.
