So Ive been looking for a certain trait that I want in some luporas. And I noticed in the advanced search (I only searched for the visible trait, not carried.) that some of the same genes are different colors. I was asumming that green ment it wasnt very strong in carrying on, blue was better, purple was the best. Or it could mean something else. Can you help me out? :)

I have been summoned, and yes, we have answered this before

If you look through our answers in this thread here (and the linked one in our first post there we explain, but we'll break it down quickly here.

In advance search, if we, say, look at this girl:

She's Gene Tested and the Advance Search shows her traits as such:
Gene 1: (EG) Red Tailed Cockatoo
Gene 2: (NA) Shimmer Tips
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (EE) Gallant Armor
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

If she was not gene tested she'd look like this:
Gene 1: (EE) Red Tailed Cockatoo
Gene 2: Nothing
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (EE) Gallant Armor
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

Green traits are Carried traits which are 50% chance going to pass on nothing, 50% going to pass on the trait, and are not visible on the pet. They only become viewable in a pet's genetics if they're tested.

Blue traits are Visible traits, and are the traits you can see looking at the pet. This girl very obviously has vis Gallant Armor and Red Tailed Cockatoo. There's a 100% chance the trait will be passed down to offspring (because both sides of the 50/50 are the same letter), but it's not 100% that the trait will be visible. If the offspring inherits either an N (nothing) in that slot from the other parent (either from that parent not having anything or the 50/50 from a carried trait) then it will be a carried trait. If they inherit a letter closer to A in the alphabet than the vis trait from the other parent (in the case of 'E', any of A, B, C, or D), then THAT trait will be the vis trait, making the E...

A Purple trait, which are trait slots with Hidden traits. They can also be considered carried traits as they aren't visible. The genetics follows the same 50/50 on which one is passed on to offspring. These also only show if a pet has been gene tested, so you won't know they're there unless they are (unless you look at the parents and it becomes obvious- but you obviously can't do that with wild pets.)
In this girls case, her G1 is EG, vis Red Tailed Cockatoo, with Hidden Mystic Feathers.

So if you're trying to carry on a specific trait, blue's best

(also, I said 'quickly, but I took 20 minutes and now my breakfast's soggy .`n. )

the trait color charte is relatively simple :

green = carry

blue = visible

purple = ressessive

the ressessive trait are carry beneth the visible, it can somtime become the visual trait, if you realy want a trait to pass i would recomend to use a blue trait as it avoid to get another unwanted trait on the offspring. On another hand, the ressessive and carry traits can only be seen if the pet is tested so you may get an offspring with unknow mutation if you breed with untested pet or if your own pet is not tested.

i hope it help ^-^
