Hi there! I'm super new here, heard about this place from Furvilla. While most of it's pretty easy to get, I have a few questions for things I haven't gotten the hang of yet...

First of all, I have a BUNCH of potions that I got from missions and the shop. It's in my inventory, and some of them can be used in and/or out of battle, but when exploring, I don't have them in my inventory. Do I have to put them in a specific place? I can access my genetics tester and traps, but none of the litany of potions.

Secondly, what do I do with my AP? Is it a currency, or is it more like a game score?

Thirdly, I noticed on one of the newbie help threads that there's a new version of the battle system. I'm currently using the old one...how do I update? Or do I have to be on the site for a certain amount of time before I qualify?

And finally, and this is just a curiosity...when nurturing eggs, is there a way I can tell how to incubate a specific egg? (Keeping egg warm, cool, etc...) or is it just process of elimination for each egg?

Thanks for your help!

Nurturing:
Eggs are
> cool egg if warm
> warm egg if cool
> turn egg if restless
> polish egg if dull

Hatchlings are
> Work out with it if Weak
> Play with it if Restless
> Read to it of Derpy
> Offer food if Hungry
> Race with if Slow

Correctly nurturing will give you a scale (untradeable currency, used in the Scale Shop)
For every five nurtures an eggling's timer will be boosted by 1 hour (all egglings have a 72 hour timer to hatching)
Five nurtures to a hatchling will boost the lowest stat by one in order of Str>Int>Dex>Agi

(correctly nurturing also has the very small chance of giving you an essence of the nurtured species, and during festivals a rather higher chance of giving you whatever festival currency is relevant)

The Battle System you are using cannot be updated- it's based on the area you're in. The Viridian Meadows and Umbra Forest use the old system, while Astryl's Vale and the Seasonal Festival Zones use the new system (so you should get to see it in about a day, if you decide to participate in the Fall Festival)
All zones are going to be shifted to the new system when the Site relaunches.

AP, Advancement Points, are another untradeable currency, gained by plot progression and things like battling. They can be spent on things like unlocking bases in the wardrobe, getting more save slots in the Generator... and another thing that I literally? always? forget?
... OH yes, unlocking more party preset slots, that's what it is.

There are three types of healing items, potions, elixirs and draughts.
Potions can only be used on pets when you aren't in battle, and are accessed from the regular inventory (rather than the adventure inventory) (while you're in the old adventure zones).
Elixirs, however... while in battle, click the red arrow next to the Inventory button that says 'Manage Party'. You can then click 'use item', select the elixir or draught, and click the pet you want to use it on.
