I wanna get an egg from the scale shop but is it even worth all the nurturing for scales?

I believe eggs from the scale shop are tamed, so you can use things like Genetic Mutators on them.
The more scales they cost the more trait points the baby will have, so if you buy an egg costing lots of scales, it could be a legendary/mythical(?) pet.
There was a thread somewhere about it, figuring out what scale range has what amount of trait points and explaining it further, you might be able to dig it out somewhere :)
