Quick question, if I dye a pet, will the new color be taken into account when breeding the newly dyed pet?

Yes; when you breed the pet the new color will be used for choosing offspring's colors. So if you bred two white Sylesti they would have white offspring, but if you dyed one or both of them another color (example: blue) they could or would have offspring off those colors.
