I have problems determining genetics on here >.<

Say you use two regular essences for a breeding pair and give them both two different carries. Is it possible to eventually get a 4 show like this or not?

It is possible for the carry to pass on the their child if one pet is carrying. Like if you had two different pets with two different carries from each other then it would be possible for their children to get a four carry

With 2 regular essences it's possible to get a 4 carry (with a lot of luck) but not a 4 vis. However if you use a couple extra regular essences you can eventually get a 4 vis, I believe, it's just take a long time due since you can't breed siblings or children with parents, so you'll have many generations on your hand.

So basically have to make pairs with either the same carries or one vis and work my way from there?

@Cerberus,

I don't know if 4 - 1vis pets would work, but 4 - 2carry pets should. (I don't do a lot of breeding, but I have a 4vis project that started as 4 - 2carry pets)

@Cerberus,
Here's how the genetics work when involving Visible and Carry:

Vis + Vis = Vis
Vis + Carry = Vis or Carry
Vis + Nothing = Carry or Nothing (possibly, not sure about that)
Carry + Carry = Carry or Vis or Nothing
Carry + Nothing = Carry or Nothing

You can get a 4 vis but you'd have to generate 2 pairs if you're using regular essences. If you wanna get 4 traits on the baby generate the pairs with the traits you want.

For example, say you want a 4 vis nixi showing banded stripes, tri tails, advanced runes, and talismans and you wanna use regular essences. You can generate 2 pairs. Two with the first 2 traits and 2 with the 2nd two.

Let's just pretend two carry banded/tri and the others runes/talis

Breed the banded/tri tails nixis with the runes/talis nixis. Eventually, you'll get two babies (hopefully opposite gender XD) that don't share parents carrying all 4 traits, that can breed for a 4 vis.

There are other ways you can put the carries but this is the simplest way I think.

@Talyn,

Vis+nothing = carry

It works the same as the bio you learn in highschool, punnet squares and all. Where visible genes are recessive.
